My favorite part of basically every Jordan highlight is that the defender jumps about the same time, or often after, but near the apex you just see Michael continue to rise a bit longer as the other guy is already falling back down.
That’s what makes these posters so beautiful. Many Blake Griffin and Ja Morant posters are like that.

I actually think it is underrated. There are a lot of people that only focus on his aerial acrobatics. But, I think his offensive AND his defensive quickness are often overlooked.

Homie, a lot of people still don’t give him credit for being a Defensive Player of the Year and a 9 time All-Defensive First Team. You don’t hear about those accolades nearly as much as you hear about his offensive accolades. So, I would call that underrated.

Go glance the recent top whatever number it was defensive players of all time list Bleacher Report put up. Read the thread on here. Plenty of people here born after MJ rated have no clue about his defensive game. His steals and blocks. His DPOY. They put it all on Scottie. I think MJ was 16th and ahead of certain man.
Which in turn makes it underrated. Keep up.
Nah, a lot of people never got to see 1st threepeat MJ (or 2nd, for that matter). People also don’t appreciate how strong he was, even when he was skinny- Sam Perkins was like 280 and he goes straight through him.
The closest thing I’ve ever seen to a young MJ was peak Dwyane Wade- so fast and so strong. He was going to get to the basket and either put up a high percentage shot or force you to foul him, no matter who was on him.
it’s because most people’s memories of him at this point are from the second 3peat. 80’s and early 90’s MJ was by far the best athlete in the league.
Yup his speed and athleticism was never the same as before he retired and player baseball.
He was still super athletic but there was a noticeable difference when he came back for the 2nd 3peat.

This is the guy that MJ explains for the reason in Game 1 that he switched hands from a dunk to a layup(a spectacular move, which he did twice in that game and nobody noticed the first one, irc). In game 2 he just sais, fuck it I’ll dunk on him instead.

I know you’re not arguing in good faith here. But I want to point out that Perkins 100% could have tackled him there and it just would have been a common foul. That’s how the 90s were more physical.
