Wade was uniquely gifted in his skill as a slasher. Incredibly quick, agile, explosive, strong, and innovative/adaptive when attacking the rim. He wasn’t a flopper who went hunting for opportunities to exaggerate contact, he went at the rim. Yeah he got a lot of free throws but it’s the finals and he was a generational slasher and finisher in attack mode.

They both had similar games overall. However, I think there are a couple of nitpicks that make them different.

I would say that D-Wade was a solid jump shooter in the midrange at the time. MJ, though? His midrange game is considered arguably the best ever. Getting to his spots, either post up on the high post and take the turn around or fake the drive and pull-up or take a one-legged fadeaway. It was almost automatic.

When it comes to driving to the basket, I think Wade was more crafty on the drive, using the Euro step and his quickness/creativity to knife his way to the basket. It’s almost like Ginobili. MJ relied more on his quick first step to get an advantage on his defenders and then using his athleticism, his length, and his big hands to either make impossible layups look easy or jam it over defenders.

But but wade was a slasher and he was quick! Bullshit, there’s a reason why this series always comeback into the conversation because its so controversial. Heat fans know deep down it was bullshit too lol

I vividly remember Wade grabbing Dirks hand at throwing it at himself and drawing a foul. That series was stupid as hell to watch.

I mean the most clear cut example is game 6 with 30 seconds left and Wade just barrels into Dirk and they give him 2 FTs in a 1 point game. You don’t call anything there and if you do you do it on the guy running full speed extending his arm out.
