Times Kevin Durant has tried to downplay his move to the Golden State Warriors:
October, 9th 2019:
KD goes on Hot 97 after signing with the Nets and is asked about his worst career loss, and he doesn’t agree with the suggestion that blowing the 3-1 lead with the Thunder was one of his worst losses. He says they were underdogs and he calls the 2016 Cavs more talented and better than the Warriors
“We’re playing against a 73-win team in the Warriors, and the Spurs who were a 67-win team that year. And then the Cavs were the best team in the league — most talented team — so I’m like, ‘We’ve got an uphill climb, let’s just see what we can do.’”

KD claims the 2017 Warriors and Cavs were completely evenly matched while responding to fans on IG.
“Perfectly even matchup fam….. from top to bottom.”
“hahahaha IT WAS AN EVEN MATCHUP NO MATTER HOW MUCH U CRY ABOUT IT”

Kevin Durant says going to the Warriors was him going to the underdog.
“The organization had never been a winning organization. When I was in the league, nobody liked Golden State. It still feels like an underdog to me because I’m looking at the totality of the franchise. I’m not looking at what happened in these last five years. You’ve never been a perennial winner in the NBA from the 1950s on up.”
“So I’m like, ‘It’s an underdog franchise to me.’ This feels good, like s–t, this feels like where I’m supposed to be. It ain’t [Los Angeles]. It ain’t New York. It felt like where I’m supposed to be.”

KD says the 2027 Sixers are better than the 2017 Warriors.
“Ain’t even close lmao. Joel, MVP recently. Jaylen brown, recent finals MVP, Tyrese Maxey, all-star the last 3 years. We all know what bron does. Klay Thompson, never a MVP candidate in nothing, 22ppg. Draymond, 14ppg 7 rebounds 6 assist, Steph a MVP just like Joel was. I don’t get how the Warriors team is better on paper.”
Does this mean KD is saying in 2017 he was only as good as 42 y/o LeBron? /s
