George Gervin, pick 40, and Moses Malone, pick 28, could be in the conversation.

Giannis isn’t a top 15 player all time, Jokic is top 42, MJ top 1. That’s probably it at the top. Kobe since he was taken later but almost the rest of the top 15 except Curry are top 3 picks in their respective draft including KAJ, LeBron, Shaq, bird, magic, wilt, bill.

I wonder if Manu would have a chance. Drafted 57, career VORP 45.

Moses Malone was taken 38th in the ABA draft and those ABA drafts were absolute clusterfucks so I’m gonna say Moses Malone.

Jokic was 41st he’s a top 20 pick

Moses Malone was the 28th pick he most certainly is a top 20 pick ever

Jokic was a second round pick. He has to be near the top of the list.

yeah MJ and Jokic 100%, Kobe like 95% chance would go higher than 13 all time. That’s probably it.

Only other person I can think of is Bird who was drafted 6, which is..very close to where his all time ranking is.

This is a great prompt. How do we think about trans making terrible choices with their draft picks? Which team makes the worst pick, and who is it?

Not because those guys weren’t great, but just like this is the all time redraft so you have to figure it’s the Kings, Pelicans, Wizards, etc drafting first.

Nothing has stopped those guys making picks everyone knew were horrible at the time before, why would they change for the redraft?

Curry would be possible. He was taken 7th, and most people have him in the top 10, so it’s a coinflip. Plus there’s guys who have better career accolades that you would probably pick after him if we were drafting for teams in the modern day.

I don’t think Steph is anywhere close to top 5 greatest players ever bc his resume is terrible vs other top 10 guys… but I do think he’s one of the top 5 best players ever in terms of performance level in his prime/peak.

So I would say he goes before 7th in an all-time draft.

To me, an all-time draft is more so asking who the best players are rather than greatest players; which is why my ordering for an all-time draft would look different from my top 10 list.
