Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Trendon Watford is nearing a move to Europe, sources tell BasketNews. According to sources, the 25-year-old combo forward is in advanced negotiations with Valencia Basket. Considering he’s made under $3 million every year of his career, I’d imagine there’s not a massive pay gap between the two. Plus he’s probably going to be a starter and allowed more freedom to play, and getting to live at the beach in Spain is probably pretty nice

I mean like keep on fighting for minimum contracts and rotation minutes in the NBA or be the guy for a team overseas. I think I’d choose overseas especially after hitting the 5 years of service threshold to secure lifetime medical coverage for family members.

Considering our PF depth is Trey Lyles and 6’5 Jaylen Clark, I think it’s safe to say there is a spot for him in the league if he waited it out. The money/contract security must be more competitive for him overseas.

I was kinda surprised he didn’t play more against us in the playoffs honestly, because I remember him being serviceable on Brooklyn. So I guess in a way this kinda makes sense for the dude - better to get paid and actually play I guess.
