José Calderón finishes the game himself instead of passing to Carmelo Anthony, but cannot bring himself to celebrate despite the win.
you see how Melo didn’t celebrate for his team mate? thats the kind of player he was 🙃
The longer time passes the less favourably he’s looked at
Good
Which is weird, since during his time he was considered a B tier star. Idk why he had this post retirement spike
I think it’s more people are looking at him less like a B tier star.
It’s become more and more obvious over time to have elite impact you need to either be a great playmaker (or movement scorer), great defender or do all the little things well like rebounding, turnover suppression, extra passing, drawing offensive fouls and so on.
And Melo did none of that.
To add RAPM is typically pretty solid measure of these things, obviously you do want a box score component for better analysis but - Melo peaked at around 3.5-4 in rapm which is low level all-nba. And he only did so for 3 or maybe 4 seasons. Otherwise he was more like a fringe maybe even slightly below all-star calibre. Basically he’s Demar derozan.
His peaks in 1Y Rapm is 13th, 2Y rapm 12th, 3Y RAPM 17, 4Y RAPM 18, 5Y 27.
He had that A tier ego. It didn’t help that he was popular and people just overlooked his flaws.
was gonna say this… Kobe is guarding Melo in this clip…Melo played in the East-West game against Kobe… Melo legitimately believed he was the east coast Kobe.
Carmelo era un anotador de élite pero nada más. Fue una estrella por su carisma no por lo que demostraba en la cancha.
Charisma?
He was one of the smoothest scorers of all time, watching him play was terrific.
You don’t need any of those stats dude, just the fact that none of his teams went anywhere meaningful is enough.
Instead most people clamour on his scoring, his aesthetics, how Kobe says he’s tough to guard etc etc.
Tmacs another
I mean, the stats are helpful. Helps quantify how good someone is when basketball is a team game. That way you don’t get melo confused with someone like wolves era KG or Charles Barkley who were truly MVP level players stuck on flawed teams.
Nah he had legions of Knicks fans defending him while he played and even after he retired, because he was like their only star since Ewing. But now that they’ve tasted real winning basketball there’s no need to defend his black hole iso ways.
This is true, but he has always had a sizable amount of critics in NY too. He was never close to a universally loved figure in Knick fan circles.
Yeah but it’s always been like a family thing where they get to talk shit about him but if someone from another fan base or a sports media person talks trash about him, they get real Hey, I’m Walkin Here real fast.
Probably because we were trash immediately before and after he played for us, which amplified his legacy with us. Now that we have an actual superstar on our team, we’re better able to re-evaluate the kind of player he was.
For knicks fans sure but the Melo discourse league wide seems to be the same.
Now that you’ve had better you reevaluate a player who left you a decade ago?
So if Brunson never signed here and won a Finals MVP. There’s Knicks fans who would feel differently about Melo?
Absolutely. Same with Denver. Being the leader of a first round playoff exit team seems cool until someone takes you to a chip. I mean it’s better than sucking but it’s not great and you don’t realize it’s not that good until you have better. For example, people in Charlotte seem to love Kemba and Lamelo because they were the best player on teams above .500. But if they get someone to take them to the finals even, they’d forget about those other guys quickly.
He gets constantly glazed on the ex player podcast circuit.
Yall forgot he was a dick or yall young?
> Ay P they said I gotta come off the bench
Kids don’t remember Hoodie Melo.
Yeah melo does not look happy. Didn’t give a shit if they win or not.
Am I missing something? None of the Knicks look like they are celebrating, including Calderón
Because they know Melo about to pout until he scores 30 in next game :(
Thats conjecture.
Motion to have that comment stricken from the record, your honour.
I gotta assume he did not follow the drawn-up play and/or rancid vibes in general
The team had horrible vibes and were out of the play off race at this point. There was nothing for them to celebrate but reddit just loves to circlejerk the Melo hate.
Just Melo doing Melo things. Every year the general public gets lower on him. He never tricked me
Was he even trying to trick anyone? Known bag chaser his whole career.
Quietly walked himself out of the him vs LeBron debate without making a sound.
Casuals got tricked. By him, by the media, by the other casuals. Who knows. But we still see some “hoopers” out there saying he was some kind of superstar and high impact player
He was superstar in terms of popularity.
But a lot of that was his college basketball career too. People actually watched college basketball back then and his Syracuse team was a massive story.
The guy came into the league extremely popular, in a way that doesn’t happen anymore.
It seemed like only one person celebrated
Dagger against the Lakers and only one guy seemed happy about it. Atrocious vibes.
Because that one player forgot what was going to happen afterwards.
What happened afterwards?
Even though this was meant to show Melo as a selfish player, it didn’t look like any of the team cared; not even Calderon.
Game wasn’t over yet, they celebrated when they won.
The game wasn’t over. Notice how Calderon and most of the team isn’t cheering yet either. Melo celebrated when the game ended, I remember this because this sub tried to pull this same misleading bullshit back then.
I swear most of this sub now is just about pushing false, creepy narratives to tear players down. Either start liking basketball or go the fuck outside.
Exactly. There was time still on the clock.
They gotta get their narrative out some way though. 😂
This reminds me of that story Iman Shumpert tells about Melo and end of game shots. He frames it as the burden of being a star but underneath you can hear what a pain that must have been to play with.
Edit: Found it.
Melo has been doing damage control with JLin but I just dont buy it. There are plenty of examples of him being unhappy when teammates steal his thunder
This was a trash team coached by Derek Fisher and Kurt Rambis. Nothing to celebrate for any of them.
…no one’s celebrating because the game isn’t over yet.
People just love to get their shit off on Melo.
I find this so weird. The most psychologically competitive players like Jordan and Kobe still celebrates their teammates buzzer beaters.
Bc they actually cared about winning
Calderon explained this in a video with Drafteados, a spanish NBA youtube channel. The room chemistry was broken at that time.
Edit: minute 8:03 https://youtu.be/SoxTF6ZvlxQ?t=484&is=zWcFYlE85qXpYJtF
Gee I wonder what happened
Phil. Was. Horrible
Phil was bad, but Carmello was a black hole.
Yesh he very clearly wasn’t celebrating either
Carmelo would rather take and miss the game winning shot than celebrate a teammate hitting the shot
I hate that this is Melo’s legacy. He’s the perfect contrast to LeBron’s focus and dedication.
From the 10+ years of watching him play and seeing the interviews, the talks from other players, it really feels like it’s a well-earned reputation if that everyone said was true.
His body language in this clip says it all
why do you hate that this is melo’s legacy? he did it to himself. i’m surprised melo still has fans
A lot of people are super selfish just like him and I imagine they would want someone like him to succeed and be very important.
Unluckily for Carmelo’s legacy, at least at Denver, the Nuggets drafted Jokic who is basically who you’d design in a lab as the inverse Carmelo.
lol people who are super selfish like him don’t realize they are super selfish
There was a clip recently of Melo talking about how Denver gave 15 to Jokic as some sort of insult or dig at Melo. Like he’s some kind of franchise legend who must always be reversed.
Like sure, he had some great seasons with Denver, but he had one season where he got that team past the first round.
Melo was an elite scorer, and a decent rebounder. Unfortunately, I think his personality really held him back from true greatness. Case in point, he’s now remembered mostly as a selfish, score first kind of player and not a good teammate who drove success.
Melo has fans because he has talent, skill, and his game is beautiful to see. He’s one of the best iso scorers and players who appreciate basketball appreciate someone who is good at pure 1v1s. Like if you asked actual NBA players about their opinion on someone like Derozan, you’ll see that even though he’s a flawed player in the modern game, NBA players themselves will think his play is amazing. That’s why players like Melo, AI, and Tmac will always be rated above their actual impact to winning.
He earned it for pushing everyone away so he could iso and firs-round exit
It’s why when people are talking about the greatest Knicks of all time, I don’t even consider Melo. Pure selfish basketball and no defense. He only looks good because of how terrible the Knicks were in the years before and after him.
He was on the Knicks for 6 1⁄2 seasons (finishing the second half of his first season with them), they only made the playoffs three times, twice a first round exit. And in the season they went to the second round, his performance was not good. 28.8 ppg, but just 6 rebounds and a comical 1.6 assists per game and an awful shooting line of .406/.298/.885. He was talking five 3s a game on .298 and almost literally never passing it.
I’ve been a Knicks fan since the early 90s and while the Melo era had some good moments, it really wasn’t great, especially when you consider the constant drama from Melo.
I think it’s a perfect legacy for him
Why? I have been a Heat/Nuggets fan since ‘04 and that was always Carmelo’s biggest weakness. He was a terrible leader. Some guys just are.
Only 1 guy is celebrating
Literally nobody celebrated
I still can’t believe you guys won the chip. And from playing team basketball at that
ultimately the coach + leadership* is responsible, Phil lost control of the locker room. Plenty of garbage teammates win chips on teams with strong leadership. it would’ve been better if Melo stepped up, but blaming him over Phil is odd to me
edit: phil was the gm but more involved in coaching than a normal gm. im old you’ll forget things too
Jackson wanted to trade Carmelo. He was right. Carmelo was never going to be the guy to lead the Knicks to anything.
Phil gave Melo a no trade clause. Then publicly called out Melo to get him to waive it which pissed off a lot of the locker room and people around the league. Porzingis walked out of his exit interview over it and later stated that Phil’s tenure was one of the reasons he asked for a trade. Ironically, Melo was going to waive the NTC if phil didn’t do that. He then decided to not to waive the NTC until Phil was fired. The guy was a moron as team president.
Oh yeah Phil wasn’t the right guy either (although if he did get Kerr instead of Fisher as coach, maybe it would have ended up very differently).
I’m puking in my mouth remembering those days. I think the lowest point came when Porziņģis wanted a trade out of the team.
It ended working out, at the time it looked horrible. here was a rookie we drafted, who was eligible for a max extension , but found being on the team so distasteful he asked for a trade to make less. Now we learned since that it was the front office that wanted to get rid of him because he was so injury prone.. but at the time I was suicidal cause I thought we would be bad for another ten yrs.
There was no end in sight to our badness. And when we hired Leon Rose I was like how is this agent gonna fix the team . I still don’t know how he did it and where all this basketball acumen came from but hey I’m happy now.
Phil… wasn’t… the… coach?
Phil Jackson was heavily involved at the time. Demanded the team run his offense, and created an absolutely toxic environment from the very top to the very bottom.
Melo was a selfish player on the court, but has been historically very liked by teammates in the locker room. He wasn’t some toxic athlete creating behind the scenes issues. Not sure why his reputation has gone that direction despite no evidence of it.
This video can be evidence. You can see his reaction to when Calderón makes the 3. Almost the same reaction as the Lakers lol
Nobody reacted bro lol. It’s not just Melo. The team was like 10+ games under .500 at this point
the one guy throws his arms up, the other two guys both give a fist pump and look at calderon, Calderon is playing it cool, but Melo is the only other Knick on the court to give NO reaction.
There was only 1 player celebrating. Phil was the cancer. You can play mind games all you want but if everybody checks out you lost
No evidence? It’s common knowledge he pushed Jeremy Lin off the team despite the fact that they had a better record with J Lin. He was exactly what they needed at the time, a high level playmaker, but Melo was literally jealous of the Linsanity attention
Very well liked by Lin?
Melo was not a good teammate. At best, he was an uneven teammate.
yeah the people telling me i don’t know ball were i think quite young at the time, if you watched ESPN you’d see Phil almost daily critiquing his team
People are unsure who to blame… a guy who won 11 NBA Championships (and more if you count the Knicks in the 70’s) and kept some of the most contentious locker rooms of all-time together and wasn’t even coaching, or a known cancer and black hole who never a ring. Tough one.
You should do a deep dive on Knicks Phil Jackson. The shit was horrible
“His very first move as the executive was to sign Lamar Odom, who was on crack!”
Had them boys playing a 90s triangle in the 2010s. It was obvious Phil lost his touch
It was easily Phil’s fault if you were actually old enough and a knicks fan to live through his tenure.
Running his version of the triangle with that squad was just asking for problems.
(I’ve had the opinion that Derek Fisher, had he spent a few seasons as an assistant with any competent head coach outside of the triangle, probably ends up as a good NBA head coach but because of the Knicks experience, that ship has sailed hard.)
Melo is a basketball cancer. A total loser.
ikr, I’m just flabbergasted there are people defending him and saying he was unstoppable. He was good at playing one on one in a five-on-five game.
There is a reason it’s called Carmelo mentality, he’d rather score 32 and lose than contribute to a win my making winning plays down the stretch and score 22-24 points overall.
I also find it crazy how many people still defend Carmelo as a “winning” player.
I’ve gotten into many discussions about this; and Melo defenders always bring up his college chip and Olympics medals — as if those are anything close to leading an NBA team to a title.
I can go into detail about his on-court flaws… but even ignoring all that, I will always point to Melo’s mentality as the most damming thing. This Chauncey Billups quote, which others have mentioned in here, is a great insight into that. Billups shared locker rooms with Melo for a few years; so he got to see it first-hand (source):
it meant too much [for Carmelo] because he could have games where he had 20, 22 [points], we win the game and he’s mad. He might have 36 and he’s in there, you know, we lose the game and he’s in there picking everybody up. Scoring 30 meant too much
Melo was truly the quintessential “me first”, selfish star who focused on his own stats rather than team success. In a team sport, that’s the most damning thing you can do as the leader.
People acting like it had to be either Phil OR Melo as the problem; as if it couldn’t be both. When Amare was hurt (lol) during the 2012-2013 season, Woodson had Melo at PF and he was playing Olympic Melo levels - efficient scoring because he was a mismatch on defense, good passing, rebounding, etc. But he refused to stay there long term because he hated playing against bigger opponents and wanted to go back to playing his game - iso mid-range ball.
Melo never wanted to sacrifice to get to the next level if it meant playing a different way. Hell, it took him like a year and a half out of the league before he finally accepted he had to play a different way if he wanted back in as a role player.
Que pasa familia 😀
Damn so mostly bad chemistry most likely thanks to Melo but he actually remembers this moment really fondly and said he has a picture of the hug he and Kobe had at the end of the game. He was also given Kobe’s jersey and it was also Kobe’s last game vs the Knicks. He mentions that spike Lee never fails to be happy and supporting the team and that he was the only one basically celebrating lol
Chauncey Billups stated that individual scoring meant too much to Carmelo Anthony, noting that Anthony would be upset after a win if he only scored 20 or 22 points, but positive after a loss if he scored 36.
Different sport, but that’s how AJ Brown was for the Eagles last year and why he wanted to get traded, he didn’t think he was getting the ball enough and not getting enough stats. I forget the exact quote, but he also said something before like he didn’t feel any different after winning the Super Bowl.
Yeh WRs have that issue lol. Fair in some ways, you’re the only player on the field who starts far away from the QB, bust your ass up the field every play, and touch the ball 5 times a game. Hard position to stay engaged, every other position is doing something. Still a bunch of whiners but I get where they’re coming from at least haha .
After catching some Eagles games last year I can confirm busting his ass every play was not AJ’s mode of operation
His lack of effort helped them lose the playoff game.
He had at least 3 drops that game. Absolutely embarrassing.
Plus their position is all about getting the attention of others. Either their QB or the DB guarding them on a run/screen/etc.
Makes sense why (almost) all of them are attention seekers off the field too
Also most contracts for skill players have a ton of language for personal performance tied to money. Some for team success but way more for individual. Imo change the contract structure
yeah i feel like if you put any stat incentive in a contract you’re just asking that player to play selfishly. pretty sure there have been nba players with incentives having to do with their percentages, and once they hit the percentage they need they’ll get super conservative with shot selection. and even if they don’t play selfishly, i wouldn’t want my players in their own heads about needing to make more shots to get an extra few million.
Fair in the sense also that if their team’s winning games but the offense isn’t performing, then they’re not contributing as much to winning as a guy putting up less points in basketball. Their unit is being outperformed when they’re on the field. Eagle’s defense was just very good
It’s the same reason you need a point guard who can still ensure inefficient bigs get touches in the paint. They spend all game running back and forth to set picks and flash to the basket with nothing to show for it, hard to keep that shit up if your number never gets called
Aj Brown requested a trade after a 4-0 start to the season.
And coming off a Superbowl win
His whole point was that their offense sucked and while working now would get them beat in the playoffs. Which is exactly what happened lol. People forget the Eagle’s OC was a laughingstock for his poo poo offense WHILE being mad at AJ For hating the offense.
He was talking about wanting to be remembered as an all time great and he basically wasn’t getting the ball enough to put himself in the conversation
Why win multiple super bowls when you can be remembered as one of the best 50(?) WRs of all time
I mean people have different goals in life. Super bowls really don’t mean much to the legacy of a wr unless they provided some key highlight or something. If he cares more about his personal legacy that’s his prerogative, nothing wrong with it
I think you can actually make an argument that caring about individual stat lines IS the more professional approach.
They’re just concerned with hitting their metrics y’all.
This is why WR’s will never lose the “diva” stereotype. So incredibly talented but they’re the skill position most likely to throw a hissy fit. Of the big name players in the NFL, WR’s are the most likely to cause drama.
Just to play devils advocate here. Dudes run full speed anywhere from 1 to 40 yards every single play on offense. And some contracts have catch and yard incentives. So if I ended a game with 1 catch and 5 yards and only a couple more passes throw my way, I’d be a little salty. Especially if we lost.
It’s a double edge sword though cause it’s a team sport so I definitely get the diva accusations as well.
Sounds to me the incentive system is broken, encouraging personal stats over team W. It’s like the first rule of KPIs, once you start measuring them, the workers aim towards the KPI, not what it was supposed to be the proxy of.
I’ve played with people like this before. I actually love passing but I’ve got a solid shot and teammates like that never give you the opportunity to get warm.
Melo one of the best scorers ever!! That being said, fuck melo lol
Ya he put up a lot of points, but he was such a volume shooter. Which would be ok if he wasn’t so inefficient. All that willing to lose to score and no regard to efficiency and he still only got one scoring title.
Positive rTS% through all but 2 years over his 9 season prime the inefficiency is overstated because of how bad he was after 2014, that skewed people’s perceptions
In retrospect, he probably was mad because Melo wouldn’t take the under enough/s
Cristiano Ronaldo of orangeball.
Ronaldo is tTop 5 of his sport All-Time. Melo ain’t even Top 50 in hoops. And no, winning an NCAA title and a Gold Medal is not equivalent to winning the Euros and multiple Champions Leagues
Ruud van Nistelrooy would be a better comparison
Melo’s two years where he got past the first round had him averaging 22.8 and 22.6 PPG for the season, two of his lower scoring averages during his peak years.
Funny how well Chauncey had that shit pegged.
Melo a dogshit teammate.
“Fuck outtah here K-Love, I got it.”
I really don’t understand the fans that hype him up too much. He’s a scorer and that’s it.
He had the ability to be more is the frustration though. When he really locked in he was a solid defender, it just barely happened because he cared more about getting his 30 points than a win.
Give someone with drive like a Jevon Carter kind of guy Melo’s talent and they’d be a top tier player.
A lot of Reddit is too young to actually have watched him in his prime. He was the ultimate ISO player of that era. Truly painful to watch.
He knew melo wanted that shi
he is much more concerned of what will happen in the locker room 😭, he might be probably thinking “i might get shipped like jeremy lin “💀.
Best case scenario, that locker room gotta be a toxic wasteland
You know Melo was pissed.
Bro had Kobe on him. Like he was gonna do shit anyway lol.
Kobe smacked Melo around for a decade😂
Come on lol. This is post achilles tear, knee injury, shoulder injury Kobe. He was an atrocious player. He was one of the worst players in the league by contract and by the volume of stats.
Melo was overrated 100% his whole career. But Kobe was a bonafide bum at this point. He wasn’t going to be able to do jack shit.
He would have been guarding him for like 2 seconds… Kobe, even at 36, was capable of staying with Melo for 2 seconds. Look at him in this clip. He’s stuck to Melo.
Melo’s complete lack of enthusiasm or celebration seems very telling here. This looks and feels like a very unhappy team.
No need to wonder why he’s ringless
Brainless and ringless are twins
Uhhh MPJ? lol
My man mpj catching strays lmao
This shot gave them a win that put them at… 28-40. They weren’t formally eliminated yet but were damn close.
Melo obviously deserves some of that criticism but that team was just plain bad. This game meant very little, the Knicks weren’t going anywhere. It looks like an unhappy team because it was an unhappy team.
Calderon’s reaction probably took that into account too. He knew that he would be hearing it from Melo.
I was at this game. My grandfather (rip) bought us lower bowl seats for over $250 each because he knew that Kobe was my favorite player.
I told him that Marcelo Huertas was an awful defender and that I wasn’t sure why he was allowed in the closing lineup. Then this happened.
Shout-out to my grandfather. Marcelo Huertas you are a bum.
Shouts out grandpa
Lol. Forgot he was on the team.
Had some cool ass passes though.
Bro is a Liga ACB legend, clearly not athletic enough for the NBA but FAR from a bum.
Thats why Melo was ringless and dont have much team success, prioritizing his time to shine instead of winning.
He definitely fits the ringless category of players who cared more about fame and points than about legacy.
Edit: spelling
“Oh shit, he gone call me out later”
Melo wasnt even slightly happy the shot went in.
Those teammates hardly reacted. That team chemistry must’ve been dog shit.
I believe this was the 2014 team. That team fucking sucked ass. The only person that ever showed up that year was Melo
It was 2015-2016. KP’s first year. KP and Melo were the only bright spots. The year was completely fucked at this point. They were out of the play off race, Phil was shit talking the team through the media, Fisher was fired a few game before this.
Even funnier was that when Fisher was fired people thought it was for terrible in game coaching decisions, nah it was because he wanted to move AWAY from the triangle offense that Phil was in love with. We were 24th in ORTG that year lol.
These were two horrible teams at the time which is why nobody is celebrating
Loved Jose in Toronto. One of my favorite raptors.
Yep such an easy guy to root for.
The more revealed about Carmelo Anthony, and the fact the Knicks have been SO successful after him and with Brunson. In addition that Julius Randle was an even bigger winner in NY than Carmelo ever was. Shows how he was simply flash and no substance. This on court behaviour, the frustration of not getting the ball to be the hero, is terrible.
As a Knicks fan who at the time really supported Carmelo, now that the haze has worn off you can see how he was never about winning for the team, only himself. Even from the start forcing the Knicks to gut the team in order to trade for him on his timeline rather than stepping into a team with a young Gallinari and Wilson Chandler and an in form Raymond Felton. Plus the Knicks would have had ALL their draft picks from 2013 onwards.
In hindsight, Carmelo was a terrible player and terrible teammate.
The Knicks were ass before Melo and after Melo, until recently. Don’t have to like him, but his job was to bring excitement to NY and he did that.
And spare me with Randall, I like the guy but that didn’t work out at all, none of the guys on those teams made the cut, sans Mitchell.
Enough dwelling on the past, looking forward to a back-to-back.
We are talking about the past here as the post is of the 2010s. Anyways, Carmelo was a 500 player for the Knicks. On a max contract the whole time. Wasn’t really worth it.
He was absolutely worth it, everyone knew Melo was at his winningest next to a floor general and a great big.
Now Knicks had amare but they could only get a 40 y/o J Kidd and Melo won a playoff series then.
If dude had a better PG in their prime and amare and Chandler don’t get injured, I can see that Knicks team being a multi year playoff contender
“Randall”
What a moron post.
“Ayo, P……”
Melo was pissed
There had to be some tension in the locker room before this game.
The Melo hate here is forced
FT goat
I love Calderón so very much. So, so very much.
Melo did not like that
Lol I love the shark swarm of finding the tiniest shred of a clip to tag on a player reddit doesn’t like 😂. No one in this clip is celebrating but somehow it’s only melo.
As long as it fits their negative narrative against players this sub has decided to hate.
Y’all are so damn weird. Note how there is still time on the clock and most of the team, Calderon included, isn’t celebrating yet.
There is 0.2 seconds left. So essentially no time left to get a shot off.
Melo standing there at the end like they lost. He’s such a loser.
Thread is full of dusty dweebs who have never played anything. Nerds just following a op title to a tee
Calderón fue mejor jugador que Carmelo, no en calidad lógicamente, pero siempre en mi equipo. Un jugador que de verdad marcaba la diferencia no como Carmelo.
Jose’s assist to turnover ratio of 3.84 was insane. He had it over 8 one season with the Raps.
One of best ball protecting guards to ever play in the league.
And Melo was always a bitch tho lol
Seeing how he reacted to the game winner, I believe the Jeremy Lin rumors. Don’t give a fuck what he said on his podcast.
Reddits obsession with hating on melo needs to be studied.
It’s so weird. Everything little thing that Melo does is magnified just so dweebs can get their jokes off for fake karma points
And this is why I don’t care for Melos legacy as a Knick
Most people would say his scoring for the Olympic team was his greatest accomplishment post college. Even on a team of the best players melo still was about melo. I swear I watched a video years ago with him saying he was asked to go to Miami? Or maybe it was just when the convos about joining up was going on and melo said he wasn’t going to be the 4th option. I’m paraphrasing but he couldn’t adjust at all or sacrificing an ounce for anyone else.
Melo and Calderon are the opposite as team players… shoutout to Calderon, underrated player during his prime, amazing team player all his career.
Melo is such a loser.
Everybody shitting on Melo, but Calderon was a really solid player
God damn melo sucks ass
lol seeing the melo hate is always hilarious man.. sometimes shit be mad obvious and yall just do it single damn time
This subreddit is really full of miserable curmudgeons who love to wallow in misery and hating.
It’s Saturday morning and y’all are hating this early in the weekend.
Melo does not look pleased
Those Knick rosters were so poorly constructed around Melo and the lost of Stoudamire. But they had so many good 3 point shooters rotate through that team and never bothered to become a modern NBA team because of Melo’s shot selections.
calderon felt the cold breeze coming from carmelos side. it was not appropriate to celebrate in winter blizzard.
Melo was selfish af c
Just name a Top 10 greatest players and you have a list of guys who were not just individually great but all of em share one thing in common: they elevated their teammates to be better. Melo was never that during his prime and which is why that’s what separates players like him from reaching actual greatness.
Barely any of the knicks are celebrating but lets just talk about Melo
Yep, Anthony was clearly a loser, hated Lin because people supported him, couldn’t handle not being the top dog even though he really only had like 4 seasons or so he scored enough to be the number one of a team. Dude was a loser from day 1, unfortunate, but true.
I mean, he won in Syracuse but yeah, his attitude fucking stank and he was a selfish cunt
