No one should be allowed to bet (cough-cough—I mean, make a prediction based futures trade 🙄) on war and natural disasters. Kalshi and Polymarket letting you bet on wildfires, the war in Iran, Ukraine, and Gaza should have the founders put in jail. It’s disgusting, not to mention dangerous. We already have the President and his family along with congress betting millions on these apps ahead of military strikes so that they make profit (insider trading), and Don Jr is literally on the board of Kalshi. Betting apps might actually be partially to blame for worsening wildfires, as allowing people to gamble (sorry, make prediction based stock trades!) on natural disasters and the like encourage arsonists to start wildfires to make huge money on a bet (totally legal and totally not gambling stock trades btw /s)

These companies can operate without the regulations thst sports books that are legally operating as sports books and not some fantasy or prediction market sht, have to follow. This prediction market sht is essentially sports betting but allowes these companies like Kalshi the ability to operate without having to pay permits etc 

They are. The whole bullshit excuse they use to get around sports gambling laws is ridiculous. They should have to face all of the same regulations as other legal sports betting companies.

Trying to play semantics and argue around being real gambling won’t hold up in court. So it’s good that NY state is attempting this. Kalshi won’t go under but prediction markets should absolutely fall under the same bracket as sports gambling apps.
