This logic is faulty. They’re not going to say anything until an investigation is completed. They could have found something months ago and wanted to trace down a ton of related tentacles to verify/disprove.

If you read the article, it’s clearly just the writer’s opinion unfortunately. I do agree that it’s a bad look for the NBA to allow the investigation to drag into 2027. I agree that Adam Silver is going to be terrified of Steve Ballmer and his money. I agree that having Kawhi playing several games against LeBron in the east is good for ratings so why delay that.

Genuinely the only holdup I can see is if Adam Silver doesn’t want Kawhi in Toronto and he he’s trying to discourage Toronto from making the trade in the hopes that Kawai goes to a team he would rather see him play on, like San Antonio or Miami. I wouldn’t put it past him.
