I think people forget how good LeBron was defensively during this year. He had such a great defensive lineup around him that he could play fully to his strengths and it wound up giving them a historic defense.
TA cracks me up man. The ones who actually locked up Bron never talked crazy about him it’s always either an out of touch old head or a dude he put belt to
It’s unfortunate that this clippers team never amounted to any post season success. I recall the night they signed Paul George everyone began to make Jordan/Pippen comparisons as a the next dominant duo defensively and offensively. The LA WCF matchup had everyone hyped since James and Davis recently teamed up after shipping out Ingram and lonzo.
Injuries was their biggest foe. The only season they were both healthy was this bubble playoffs in 2020 but they choked against Denver blowing a 3-1 lead eventually losing in game 7. The following 3 years Kawhi could not stay on the floor. This is one of the biggest “what ifs” from this past decade.
Kawhi, when healthy, was one of the best forwards in game. There is a reason why they used to call him a robot because he was so cerebral with his game picking apart the defense with precision and accuracy. LeBron is undoubtedly number 1 as the best forward during that era but a case could be made who is 2nd. KD or Leonard is an interesting argument to see who takes silver.
