I’m not saying this as a way to claim Jordan is better than LeBron all-time, or vice Versa. That conversation is held every day by many people, and I think both sides have valid arguments.

But regarding this documentary; isn’t it pretty inarguable that Jordan is a far more interesting player than LeBron?

So much of what made The Last Dance a great series was his arrogance, his hard-edged playfulness, the insane context of his retirement and return to the league, the Machiavellian way he treated his teammates and his enemies, the front office drama with Krause and Phil, the Pippen/Rodman dynamic, the compulsive gambling, the flu game/poisoning…. It goes on and on and on. There are a dozen things I’m leaving off this list.

LeBron just seems so much more straightforward as a narrative. I can’t see it being one tenth as engaging, even though LeBron is an intergalactic-level talent.

Theyre not gonna let it sit for a decade or 2? Whats the rush?

Media still wants to compare LeBron to Jordan. No you can’t just enjoy LeBron without comparing him to Jordan.

Promoting the documentary without this lame 20+ year old comparison wouldn’t generate revenue I guess. I would love to watch this documentary regardless of the outcome. Earlier struggles of the newly formed team, then rise post ASG, playoffs will be fun no matter what.

I enjoyed Last Dance not because Jordan won in the end but also they explained a lot of internal struggles during the season. They also touched bases about Jordan’s previous career.

But again, this league thrives on comparing anyone to Jordan because they still can’t admit that they will never be able to reach into people’s pockets like NFL can, especially after 1998 lockout.
