KD went 561 days in between NBA games due to an Achilles tear. He’s has nearly identical production both before and after.
Kevin Durant tore his Achilles on June 10, 2019 and didn’t play another NBA game until December 22, 2020.
This is what his production looked like the the 6 seasons both before and after the injury:
| Seasons | Games | PPG | RPG | APG | TS% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2014-19 | 388 | 27.5 | 7.3 | 5.3 | 63.7 |
| 2021-26 | 352 | 27.4 | 6.4 | 5.1 | 64.4 |
Slight dip in rebounding, and a slight increase in efficiency.
It’s pretty remarkable that despite sustaining what is often a career ending (or at least career altering) injury, KD is essentially the exact same player and is maintaining the same level of productivity into his late 30’s that he had in his prime.
