Shows how much of an impact he made in the league considering Allan Ray played for the Celtics. He was nasty for Villanova on their 4 guard teams in the aughts. Ray was a 2nd team All American, Randy Foye was 1st team, Kyle Lowry and Mike Nardi were the other guards

I reran this using the full Basketball-Reference NBA/BAA/ABA player list, updated through the 2025–26 season. Nine is still the maximum—I couldn’t find a valid chain of 10—but there is now a newer co-record holder: Myles Patrick → Patrick Eddie → Eddie Miles → Miles Norris → Norris Cole → Cole Anthony → Anthony Carter → Carter Bryant → Bryant Reeves That’s nine players, with Miles Norris, Cole Anthony, and 2025 draftee Carter Bryant all added since the older calculation.
