Shorter shorts would be nice. When watching sports: straight and gay, men and women; all enjoy seeing the rippling muscles of the athletes. We’re not here to watch the ball go in the hoop, we’re here to watch the athletes bodies contorting against each other, moving rhythmically, admiring the form and substance. If one team played without shirts on, that would be even better.

Fashion goes in cycles. Good chance the short shorts will return at some point. We’ve been trending towards it for years anyways.

That said, there was a very practical reason to the shortness back then. The materials they had were nothing like what we have today - much more thick and inflexible. So being so short allowed for better freedom of movement. The ultra baggy stuff served the same purpose - plenty of room for movement.

Now? The materials we have available are light as a feather, so there’s no real benefit to being either baggy or ultra short. Right in the middle is a reasonable sweet spot. For now.

If TJ Ford has a say, we’re going extra extra extra baggy.

I’m guessing cargos. It’s the next logical progression. Players can put their mouthpieces in their side pocket, a phone in the front pocket (or rear if preferred) and still have room for a small protein drink on the side pocket.

If you opened it up to the players, I think the most dedicated ones would wear short shorts because it lets them be slightly faster and they do anything to win.

But then people like Kyrie or Harden might wear gym pants and people like Rodman would play in underwear. It’s a slippery slope.
