Kevin Durant Putting in Offseason Work Ahead of Season No. 19 With Rockets
Can’t believe he’ll start the season as a Rocket, that’s just insane after everything he did
He’s pistons bound
Gimme dat
No thanks
Just the tip?
I’m tired of just getting a taste of him
Need the whole load
Nah the whole kD
Yeah, Duren is definitely taking us to the finals bro. Stick to hockey.
You gonna tell everyone I housed your burger?
Let me take a video of you saying that you’re going to kill the president
What if I just housed Dylan’s burger?
I wish the pacers owners weren’t such cheapskates and actually made a move on him right now, he’d be so fucking good with a an assist focused PG like Hali feeding him.
Hali, Nembhard, KD, Siakam, Zubac is a PROBLEM line up.
That team would be a joy to watch. KD is a beautiful offensive player and Hali would be the perfect setup man. KD is wasted in Houston because their offense is so trash.
They might be better if Van Vleet is back to some semblance of normal
Having a true point guard will definitely help.
Im for it at the end of the day
There was nothing to be done with him. A trade would have had to match salaries. I would imagine he opts out after this year.
I was hoping the Cavs would return Harden to the Rockets for KD and then I legitimately think that’s where LeBron would’ve gone. I don’t know if all the salaries involved would have made that possible but I think both fanbases would have been happy with that.
Would have worked if Harden opted into his PO, but because he didn’t they couldn’t do that.
This comment makes it sound like he committed some horrible crime
This sub is full of drama queens
I mean everything he said wasn’t too far from the truth and he’s still their best player
get off his dickerson bro
The rest of his team supports him and his drones.
He did nothing 🤣
Carried them offensively & got hurt in the playoffs
When you say everything he did, are you referring to the burner account that kd “supposedly” posted from? 😂 or was there other stuff too?
Maybe it wasnt a big deal….and reddit haters blew it out of proportion
Man he’s a few years out from hanging them up, might as well go full Kobe. Tell everyone on the team to their face what he thinks.
Or didn’t do, mostly watching the LA series in street clothes and having the best time
The grass is always greener GOAT.
What he do?
Wonder what team he will finish the season with lol. No shot he isnt traded again.
What did he do?
Haters be damned, it’s crazy how much he’s still got in the tank at almost 38.
LeBrons godlike longevity has definitely outshined guys like KD and Steph. its crazy how good Durant still is.
Especially after blowing his achilles
Weird to think this is his third team since that injury.
It’s not weird to think a player would be on their third team after an Achilles tear. It’s weird to that hes still good for his third team
That’s more so what I was trying to say. His output hasn’t dipped, just bouncing around teams still. With Kyrie, he got to the Finals with the Mavs and looks to keep things going, and Harden is, well doing Harden stuff.
Reddit moment
*ACK*shually ☝️🤓
Bro that jump shot will never die. It’s damn near as pure as Steph’s and he’s 7 foot tall.
The insane thing is it absolutely had a significant effect on him we didn’t get to see peak kd for very long.
Even harden still put up 24/5/8 last season too
Yep knew i was forgetting somebody
2021, will always be crazy to me. How do you come back from an Achilles tear after a year out, almost lead your team to an EFC appearance, chill for a bit and come back that Summer to lead Team USA to gold in Tokyo?
Its because of how little time Brons missed
Yep. Him on the Nets vs the Bucks in that playoff series was some of the best iso ball I’ve ever seen.
Bron’s longevity is actually just an early indicator of what NBA bodies can do with current science (and financial willingness). We’ll be seeing a lot more players playing comfortably into their late 30s, and probably some still in their 40s.
And it’s happening across multiple sports. Brady, Djokovic, and Serena are just some examples of great players destroying the longevity norm.
Football too (european). Messi at 39 outplaying everyone at the World Cup, Ronaldo to a lesser extent being even able to play a World Cup at 41, and all the other players 35+ who are still kicking, Modric etc. In football you used to be finished after you cross 30, most players retired around 32-33, nowadays you can comfortably play in your prime until 35. Of course your earlier prime will be stronger than the later ones, your absolute prime is from 27-30⁄31, but now you can slow down that fall off from a sharp fall off from what used to be 31 to retirement, to now 31 to a weaker prime until 35ish and then start falling off depending on your quality
Same parallel in the nfl with Brady to Brees, Manning, Rodgers
Story of his career really
Dude’s game is so fucking smooth.
He, Steph, and Klay have 3 of my favorite games aesthetically. It’s still insane that we got watch them together.
Saddens me that they’re careers are undoubtedly coming to a close soon
I was gonna say the same thing. Doesn’t matter if KD slows down, his game still looks so nice because it’s so smooth. Like a dancer.
And after tearing his Achilles. He’s been the best of all the players coming back from that injury
Hoping Haliburton can change that
It’s just baffling that he didn’t turn out to be the leader I was expecting him to be. I think not starting a family was a factor as he hasn’t had the chance to mature as a father and husband. He’s one of the best ever as a player but bis team value has diminished a lot
No bitches
This is a ‘Colin Cowherd on John Wall’s father’ level take but it’s getting upvotes because it’s about KD.
Yep saying you cant mature without having kids is some crazy shit
The hardest road is never ending
I was paroozing his numbers on basketball reference & his lack of drop off is actually insane
That jumper 🏀 🛒 is timeless.
If Brady could play football until he did then all these guys still have years in the tank. We’ve entered a new era of longevity with sports science.
I’m always fascinated by the technical specialist coaches.
How do you tell one of the greatest shooters of all time what he’s doing wrong? Just like Tiger has his swing coach and Djokovic has his guy in the box; it’s an ultra-specific level of expertise if those guys are willing to trust you as an instructor.
Me: “yeah keep doing that”
Mr. Burns: “You, Durant! Hit a contested three pointer!”
Kevin Durant: “Okay, Skip.”
Mr. Burns: “You see that, Smithers? I told him to do that!”
Smithers: “Brilliant strategy, sir.”
Giannis shave those sideburns
Eh, still better than Steinbrenner
Underrated bit
how do you think they got to be the greatest shooters of all time
they need someone to be constantly checking their bad habits
That’s just what I’m saying. A coach is just better enough at one fractional aspect of the skill to be relied upon by one of the greatest shooters of all time.
They’re probably not better at anything. They’re just better at analyzing someone performing the skill.
You dont need to be better at anything….
You just need to be good at telling him what to do.
As a teacher myself, I actually am always happy when I’m teaching folks better than me. It’s often not really about ‘try this new thing’ and more just observations and leading questions to put their mindset in a certain direction if that makes sense.
Plus there’s also the mindset that now I’m coaching instead of playing in checking other pedagogy versus techniques. How to explain, mindset activities, etc that players might not need to focus on.
After Murray retired didn’t Djokovic get him in his coaching team specifically for this reason. There were some particular elements that Djokovic thought Murray was better at and wanted help on those.
I suppose they’re more so just a second set of eyes at this point
with tennis it’s mainly just so they have someone to explicitly tell them to calm down lol
I recently watched Giannis interacting with his basketball coach and a lot of the coaching was just letting Giannis work out what the next steps were. The coach was acting more as a facilitator to help compare where it felt good vs felt bad, and to obviously just hold him accountable for drills etc
I think the ability to actually be open to these instructions and hiding your ego is part of why they are so good.
I was thinking the same thing lol
I love watching these videos, especially the curry ones, what I notice these guys don’t correct you on your usual motions, they only correct you on the completely new move you’re trying, that’s a subtle difference.
If they were trying to correct the stars’ usual motions that they’ve done a millon times, it probably wouldn’t go over well.
Many of those trainers specialize in setting structured training and have elite sense of the reps required to improve a player at certain things
A lot of times, you just need someone you respect to validate what you already know.
It doesn’t take a genius to know eating less = losing weight but some people need it verbalized
There’s an interview with Iggy where he openly says he didn’t know how to shoot properly until he was taught it in the league, years into his NBA career. So it makes sense.
KD back in the lab before requesting a trade then gaslighting the media and fans that he never asked for a trade.
He doesn’t need to practice that, he’s well versed in
That’s why he’s my GOAT. Gaslightiest Of All Tradees.
Any other sport in the world, it’s practice, but somehow in the NBA it’s a always a fucking “lab”
This trips me out because I vividly remember him being a rookie and thinking holy shit this guy is going to be unstoppable. The sonics were finally going to become a force again. It’s weird to say but he should’ve had more rings. Too gifted not to have won more.
For his best years on OKC to compete I remember they had like three straight injuries every year to russ him or serge from 13-15 right? If Harden doesnt get traded too is a big what if, owner shouldnt have been cheap
I mean he won 2 finals mvps. That’s pantheon level stuff, among the all time greats of mj, LeBron and kawhi
the first two guys have double that tho, kawhi isn’t in the pantheon, he’s not even in most peoples top 10s and not even really close to it
his potential man kind of died when he faded out on the clippers
Ka-whomst?
Lmao no
Too soon ..
Year 19 is crazy to think about, dude is still an elite bucket 🚀🔥
with them tiny shorts
Those shorts would be knee length on you
The contrast of the jump cut to the random white guy in the jncos or whatever he’s wearing is startling
have to bring them back in the league
Fashion is circular
Just makes me think of that lotion commercial he did lol
KD got the best workout vids. poetry in motion
“In the lab” at 37, lol. What is he cooking up? New burns and burners?
it’s practice
I dunno what you think his age has to do with it lmao “in the lab” is just slang for practicing
Of course the guy from Indiana doesn’t know common nba lingo
I mean we got LeBron lifting small weights and a thread full of ppl inspired by his work ethic.
This is just as mundane, ppl just have different opinions on both of them.
He’s doing shoulder work in that video lol that’s completely normal weight to do for high volume, especially for someone doing it for longevity, you know, the thing LeBron is the undisputed best at
Yea and you got a bag for a belly
It’s his 20th season btw
Short shorts KD is lit.
they are regular shorts for you and me
I will always wonder what occurred for the slendermam to start playing basketball.
probably being tall and also really fucking good at it his whole life i’d imagine
Easymoneysniper is an investor in Skydio an autonomous AI drone manufacturer… fuck idol worship, we got a world burning and rich folks profit off it.
slim reaper goat
Seriously, dude has been the same as far as slim goes, but has held up thus far
Don’t burn out, we need him in the playoffs
Motherfucker carries even at practice lol
He’s ready to cook undersized single coverage all season.
KD is one of the 15 players in NBA history who averaged at least 15 PPG in their age 37 season.
You can take this quiz to see how many of the 15 you can name. Some of them really go way back.
Did anyone else hear the Star Wars cantina song for a split second?
He’s in peak shitposting form
Legs looking nice and … moisturised.
can’t win with those cats
we get to watch greats of our game play at a high level for 20+ seasons and mfs still think the 90s got anything on todays game smh
Dude is still unnaturally quick for size and age
Carry, carry, travel, carry, foul bait
This dumbass should go to leadership training instead of doing shooting drills.
Sick burn dude
His version of leadership is gaslighting the media and teammates
where does one sign up for “leadership training”?
Alphamaleretreats.com
Every School of Business at every university in the US offers Executive Training.
KD could take classes at his Alma Mater. https://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/execed/
You couldn’t even lead a team in call of duty and you talking about KD learning how to lead
Talking about leadership training… Boy you couldn’t even lead a conversation with a semi-cute chick at the Starbucks cashier booth smh
He’s been with the Rockets for how long??
a year
Most talented scorer ever.
Real talk he gotta work on how to handle double teams. He shouldn’t even bother with this shit he’s mastered any and all shots
If he doesn’t work on this skill then he loses it. This is maintenance…but yes doubles has always been his weakness
Had Taco Bell for dinner, I’ll be spending lots of time in the lab later
To someone who actually balls: what’s the point of the move that players do where they slowly bring the ball down and back? The trainer in black does it in this clip and then KD follows. I see it being used a lot in iso posessions.
To try and get the defender off balance by reaching or leaning forwards.
Where are the ‘Ben Simmons shooting 3s in the lab’ edits.
What is incredible about KD is that if you look at highlights of him in his first few years in the league to now, there is not much of a difference. He was already a developed three-level scorer from college.
I think he retires a rocket if it’s solely his choice.
If he wins another ring it’s hard for him to not be a top 10 player at a certain point
Those are some short shorts
It’s crazy he would have to still be doing this in 5 years to match LeBron
The average NBA career is 4.6-5.0 years
really unlucky that he played in Lebron’s generation
You ever wonder how much improvement he can actually make on his skillset & abilities at this point?
I love how KD can go up with the ball from either side without needing to bring it to the middle then up.
Is Mike Miller the trainer in the black shirt??
do players normally wear gray when working out or is it for the workout vids to show the sweat
There have been better players, but I don’t think anyone else has made basketball look so easy as KD.
This will translate to nothing
Didn’t that one former Bears NFL player shoot a skit here
The in the lab thing is getting played out lol
DurGOAT is in his 20th season, his 19th season was last season and it was the greatest 19th season the nba has ever seen
Who are these punk ass trainers these nba players be hiring?
Bro still can’t pass the ball whenever doubled.
Purity 🔥🔥
Why? So he can flop like last year?
Whoever made the video edit is smooth 😮💨
This in NYC?
Damn he clean as fuck
Does he need a training coach anymore? I feel he’s touched every aspect of scoring.
Someone to hold his phone to keep him from twitter
He never left twitter. Lol
Say what you want about KD but when he balls its a sight to behold
Crayon eaters.
The Candies, the baddest shoes in all the land
Hook’em horns!!
THE CANDYMANs HOME!
It’s crazy how good he is but a attitude changes everything.
All this to get bounced in the first round after talking shit about his teammates on Twitter
KD on his way to blow up another team 😎
Should get some reps of logging out of twitter and putting the phone down
Aint nobody gonna be gaurdin him for real with a backwards hat on
A shocker seeing him shoot pull up jumpers.
memes and drama aside if I need a bucket and we get set up an ISO there’s not many I’d take over KD
Let him stay healthy and hold on to LA28.
Shenanigans aside, his offense is the greatest I have ever seen. Just a pure scorer
Hang in there, big guy! Sonics are almost back so you can finish up.
Almost 20 seasons and still can’t handle a double team
Who cares??? These days he’s useless for sure when needed to carry a team
He should be practicing against double teams
I really wonder how long he will last, he’s toxic off the court, but he’s still so effective as a scorer that it feels like he could play forever, and there will always be some random team like the Magic that just need a bucket getter and will try to get him.
practice defense and leadership or who fuckin cares
