I don’t think 25+ for him is crazy at all. It’ll be like the Jaden McDaniels contract and McDaniels just proved it can be a really good contract.

McDaniels is a better defender but Watson is younger and 25 would be less. I feel like Watson on a better defensive team could really shine.

He was a $25m player for about a month. That’s not enough for me to gamble any draft picks on. Really hope the Bucks don’t make this move… unless it involves Gary Trent (ik he’s not trade eligible yet).

The nuggets can take back players until the trade deadline I believe. That stipulation is applicable not when you cross the threshold but the following year. You should fact check me on that though.

Assuming you mean hating on Denver — the longer the offseason goes on without any action regarding Watson, the better it is for Denver. This pushes him closer to agreeing to Denver’s contact terms.

It is bad for Denver if a team gives him an expensive offer sheet, meaning Denver has to pay him a bunch to retain him or lose him for nothing.

My point is that you should actually not like the continous rumor drops about Watson and should actually want a team to give him an offer sheet.

Denver has the majority of the leverage actually but they will have to accept they wont keep him past this year. If he takes the QO he is definitely underpaid and would be an attractive trade piece if he says he would sign an extension with the new team and Denver could get at least something for him. I do think the harsh reality that many teams will face quickly with this CBA is Denvers window is rapidly closing. They will obviously be competitive again next season but they’ve gotten worse two years running and will be worse this year also.
