The team is plagued with injuries to key players, keeps a winning record through Jokics absence, takes 3rd in the west, develops several of the young guys, and then has a bad first round exit to the team that was built by the same guy who built the 2023 nuggets and now everyone is calling for his head.

I like Adelman, and I believe in Adelman. Do I think he will bring the team another championship? No. I think the moves that it took to win in 2023 plus the moves that Booth made and Malone refusing to develop the young talent really crushed the core. But Adelman is big on developing young talent and is working on building the team defensively. He’s exactly what the nuggets need at the moment without trying to insert xyz future HoF coach in there.

Our entire big man rotation was iut simultaneously for a whole month and some change and he still only got 200 minutes total this season.

Holmes is not as good of a player as everyone thinks…meanwhile Watson had his breakout season before getting hurt. Jones saw tons of time and even started ahead of Gordon a few games, Braun started every game he played, nnaji went from a meme to “hey this kid is pretty good he should see more time”. Did injuries mean that he had to play them? Yes. But I follow the nuggets semi religiously and one of the first things Adelman said was he was going to be using a lot of different rotations of vets and young guys and he did.

Yeah, that connection makes little sense to me, so I’m with you. But the situation in general is super interesting…is Denver really gonna foot a tax bill this season that would single-handedly surpass their luxury tax total of their previous 20+ season combined? Maybe exceed it by multiples? (Depending on what they do with Watson)…History would say no…

But yet… they have the greatest player in franchise history and one of the best of his generation sitting on an extension he’s seemingly fine to wait to sign, and has a player option after this season…they are in a super tight spot as a FO between player and ownership I’d imagine. Super intriguing to see what they do. Hands down the most interesting situation in the NBA at this point in the offseason.

Eh, he’s not as bad as most people think. Shaq had the support of excellent defenders and excellent coaching. With the exception of Hakeem, no one in the top 10 has worse teammates than Jokic. Hard disagree, Malone’s feud with Booth (and vice versa) caused the roster to rely on the starters to an unhealthy degree whilst ignoring the development of young talent (see Colin Gillespie). The Kroenke’s were right to do what they did to fix the locker room, but they were wrong to let a rookie coach have little to no veteran counsel on running a contender.

Jokic getting old - So? Is he not an MVP level player still? The window was always going to be a few years so I don’t see the relevance of this.

AG’s body - Yes, but the upside is too high and I believe the staff will load manage him (just by the rookies and FA signings so far).

Cam - I know you don’t watch Denver basketball with this take, Cam fits now and is very efffective.

Brain’s contract - His season was so bad due to injury, such an extreme drop should also have an good chance of a bounceback after rest.

Pwat - If he takes the QO then fine (good luck to him), but I am sure Denver can get a a fine S&T deal once the Kawhi stuff is dealt with.

Young core - I think next season they will have to play the young guys more, with load managing AG they can look to play their rookies more. Its not like they dont have any either (Jones, Strawther, CB technically, and the rookies Brazile and Hopkins).

2nd apron - they have 6 month to get out, its not like they are 2023-2024 Celtics levels inside the apron.
