I don’t think the NBA front offices’ opinions on Brown are all that new. Doubt there was a single team that would have been willing to trade 4 first round picks for Brown at any point in the last several seasons.

Yeah there are lots of Jaylen Brown trades that the other team wasn’t willing to do that would’ve been a better haul lmao. Wemby would’ve been a better haul too but unfortunately the other team has to agree to the trade.

I don’t know what the right call is, but I don’t think it’s four firsts for Jaylen Brown. Anthony Davis I would have way preferred but that depends on the deal too.

The Warriors kind of went after Giannis also. I don’t really fault them for trying but not over-committing on any of these. Plus you can’t make any of these guys sign (for the non-trade ones like LeBron). Jaylen seems like the only one where the Warriors just said no, the rest they got out-bid or the player decided no.

All these posts about options the Warriors could have taken that sound awful make me more happy with the choices made so far, not less.

I do not think that trading four picks for Brown and giving him a big extension is worth it at all tbh, there were other guys they could have traded for to lure LeBron. Sorry but I’m with the analytics guys on this one, Brown for that price is a franchise ruiner.

The way this reads it almost sounds like AD didn’t ensure LeBron was going there. You don’t make that trade unless you’re confident you’re getting LeBron. Not to mention, it doesn’t sound like Wizards were that eager to get rid of him.

Wow this is exactly how I thought it. I feel like most warriors fans are just saying fuck the picks do everything to maximize Steph’s last years. Like you said though being ass with another team having your pick just hurts way worse. There’s nothing feasible that they could do that makes them a title contender or rather even a competitive playoff team. So why give up all your picks to maybe get AD if it’s still a question mark if he comes there.

Based on this thread and the other recent ones it seems more like it’s non-Warriors fans asking this. Maybe because they don’t see as many of the moves that were made or attempts.

But yeah I had the same thought. Like if we had a magic wand obviously we’d take guys but at the end of the day there’s only so much we can actually do.

The problem isn’t so much that the Warriors are going down this path now. It’s that they wanted to go down it since they got the 2020 2nd pick and have done a miserable job trying to balance two timelines when they really only had one that mattered in Steph’s.

No guarantee they get Lebron even if they get AD.
