I’d probably start some sort of live dude perfect – shoot with a blindfold, shoot from a mile away on a helicopter, shoot from space, etc. I figure I could do this for a few years, get a spot in the NBA 3pt contest, get a perfect score. When I ran out of shots, I’d blame it on DEI and ride the conservative grift until I become some sort of congressman.

So, here’s my thought process: now, since we can’t keep an exact count—I’m going to say “you have a rough idea” of where you might be at.

Go to Rucker Park in summer, when a game has NBA players. Spend about 25-30 shots absolutely cooking NBA talent. Go viral.

Next, spend another 25-30 shots making a mixtape. One where I drain like 10 in a row from opposite free throw line. Hope to get a try-out.

During the tryout, spend another 30-50 wowing. Hope to get a 2 way contract.

Now this is where it’s going to get tricky. You need to play to get paid. Since I don’t have an accurate count but have a rough idea, I’d have about 90% left in the tank. I’d do everything I possibly could to become the best teammate, passer, practicer etc. and hope that “defensive liability” keeps me out of the rotation—until March.

When my number is finally called—the last 10 games of the season (let’s say team is playoff bound) I’m not shooting anymore than 5 times, but all from deep. Enough to wow, but not take over. Enough to get a few playoff minutes…

Playoffs arrive with about 80-85% left in the tank—it’s time to make it rain like Harden at a strip club.

- Enroll at College that has a Basketball programm. Preferably one of the bigger names. I take a loan whatever the prize is.
- I am there at home games. I am waiting for my chances to show off. I just can’t randomly play. I need somebody with influence to see me. Also I will be very bad at all the other things besides shooting.
- In the meantime I pay a personal trainer to coach me at Basketball basics. I will need some of them.
- My plan: Defense + Elite Shooting. From Football (soccer) I know I love to play defense. The hustle, the feel to knock off the ball from the offense. Guys called me out to be frustrating when we went play football in leisure time.
- Eventually I will get into a roaster. In the first few games knock’em in. Not more than 7 attempts though. Make 5 of them. Give 100% in the defense.
- Wait for the big games. Wait for rivals. There make 8-9 including some circus shots. 70% from 3p.
- Be smart: Will your shots give your team the edge? If you have no defensive stops because a lottery prospect goes rogue (you will not stop that guy in defense), don’t take shots.
- Take every shot that is considered clutch. You have the chance for a game winner? Never leave them out. Media loves them.
- In a PO run you have to invest more. 35-40ppg is the goal. Chances are high that your statline will be 40/1/1. You need to shine somehow.
- At this point you are exposed as a small unathletic guy that tries hard in defense. Tries. But your shots are Curry’esque and you are genuinely unstoppable in scoring.
- Charles Barcley will comment on you: “When this guy gives you 40ppg and costs you 30ppg, you still take him. But he will cost you 50ppg. NBA is not for random nerdy white guys. Lakers media goes rogue on Chuck.”
- I have some contacts to agents now. And actually a poverty franchise’s GM gives me a call. How about a 10day contract? I sign. I am in the NBA.
- At this point I have 700ish shots left.
- I am subbed in in garbage time with 25 points trailing. I take every shot I get. I score. I made 21pts. We lose by 15pts. But I have some attention.
- Same script: Garbage time, 24 points, 18 points, 21 points.
- Fans want to see me now.
- I get subbed in, I score. I am dog shit in defense, I get subbed out. But I average 18ppg.
- The league knows me by name now. Coughing baby in defense, hydrogen bomb in offense. But the bomb can’t fly by itself. I make no sense at all.
- Off season, signing period: Wemby is not happy because of the 2nd round exit against the Sacramento Kings. Spurs have no shooting. Wemby says: “Get me that shooting guy. I will defend for him too.”. I agree to sign to a 2 year 5 Mio deal, with a PO in year 2.
- Wemby indeed manages to hide me in defense. I am scoring ²¹⁄₀.⁸⁄₀.7 in the RS and play 60 games. Deliberately. I am burning token like crazy now.
- POs. Worst case 28 games left for 230 3s. I decide to go for 8 3PM/game. Since we have the swept the nerdy white guys in the first round, I have ~200 3PM for 21 games max.
- I increase to 9 3PM. Wemby in his prime hides me in defense, scores 25, 15rpg, 8 apg, 5 bpg.
- 4-2, next round. 14 games left max, 144 3PM left.
- I go for 10 3PM. The hype is real. Reddit is losing its mind. 4-2 again. Wemby had 30/15/12/6/5 in the closing game.
- Last 7 games max. Finals. 84 to give. And I give all. 12 3PM = 36 ppg in the Finals possible.
- Without me, no scoring. With me, no defense. Embiid controls Wemby somehow, LeBron includes me into every defensive position possible.
- Game 7. My last 12 shots. LeBron averages 21/5/20 this series. Every assist in my direction is a automatic basket now. I can’t even run anymore.
- End of 3rd quarter: The Knee. Embiid out. Wemby rises from his ashes. I see more minutes. I haven’t scored 12 until now. I take over. 24 points in 7 minutes.
- Spurs are Champs. Wemby is crying. LeBron hugs me to congrat and says: “You should speak to Rich”.
- I hear Kevin Hart screeching from somewhere.
- Like 2014 and 2015: LeBron can’t be the FMVP. But it was his series. Voters won’t give it to Wemby.
- I am the Finals MVP. People on Reddit are commenting: “The F stands for Frau. Yes, there is no D.”
- Rich Paul is my new agent. I opt out of my player option. Free Agency.

- The Grizzly’s new GM, Nico Harrison, gives me a 3 year 100 Mio S&T deal, with a NTC and player option for a 4th year. Alongside of 2 future 1st round picks and 2 pick swaps.

- I manage to brick the next shots. I know my time has come. Out of “”frustration”” I slam my hand/arm against the hoop’s metal. I simulate an injury. I come back after 3 weeks. I can’t shoot anymore. I have mental problems now. I am only doing the necessary things to oblige my contract.
- I am hated now. Memphis wants to buy me out. Rich Paul says: There is 65 Mio left on the contact. We get 60 Mio to go. No one messes around with Rich Paul.
- I get my money paid out.

I think the thing people are missing here is you have to PROVE this before any team is gonna take a chance on you. You’re gonna have to use a decent amount of these just to get signed, maybe 50? And that’s me assuming you should some just silly shots that no one could reasonably make, and you make them all.

After that I feel like you’ve got to balance longevity and impact. You probably could spend all of your time practicing free throws, so that you don’t need to waste any guaranteed makes on them. You’re going to get fouled a LOT, since other teams will catch on really quickly and they’ll try to make sure you never get a shot off.

Do you go for like 1-2 insane years where you’re closing out every game and you’re basically guaranteed to win a couple championships? You still can’t be a full time player obviously, but I think if you’re shooting ~5-10 shots at the end of each game with 100% accuracy, you’re going to win most of the games. Ramp that up in the playoffs, and you basically can’t lose.

OR, try to last as long as possible. You’re only shooting in the absolute highest leverage situations, and you’re trying to play as long as you can shoot a basketball.

I also think for my 1000th shot, I’m trying to raise as much money as possible for charity, since it’s the absolute last one.

Unless you are above 6’3 and or a d1 level athlete even with this power you’d be unplayable on an NBA floor so maybe I’d just scam an NBA team into making me a trainer and win a bunch of full court shot challenges.

I would White Men Cant Jump all of the stars. Id challenge NBA players to a shooting contest and put a million down. And id start with like C- tier players. Then my legend would start to spread and the NBA players are going to be like, “Ill show this fool” but Ill keep winning.

And the money keeps going up.

And the endgame would be to get to the greatest gambler of all time: Michael Jordan. He would keep playing against me on double or nothing. And id end up a billionaire.

Even shooting 100%, I’d be way too much of a defensive liability, and too slow/weak to get open to receive the ball and get up a shot. There’s no way I’m going to sniff an nba court (likely true for any of us redditors)

I suspect the right approach is earning cred outside professional ball and signing shoe or endorsement deals.

Or finding an nba player with an ego and a gambling problem and playing 1 on 1, winners ball, shoot to start.

Most money I’d get from an NBA team would be as a halftime performer, making shots from the crowd or scoreboard or whatever. Seems like a fun gig, so I’ll go with that.

It will be more interesting if you start it as an 18-year old out of NBA’s radar.

Join a random g league team/pro-am that pretty much lets anyone on as long as you pay. Score 100, go viral (-30). Set up a showcase for any scouts who will show up. Shoot and make 20 full court shots (-20) go viral again. Ladder my way up until I make real money as a late game need a bucket scorer letting them know I can’t miss. Eventually people would catch on that I literally can’t miss and will pay me to be a one shot wonder. Write in my contract I can only take around 20-30 shots a year with each additional shot triggering a bonus.

Should at least able to make 100m+ especially if I can leverage any trade deadline to go to any playoff team.

Id be realistic and know im not making it to the NBA even with that since im nit athletic enough, dont know plays, suck at defense, etc. Id find other ways to profit off of it loke betting on pickup or something, maybe do a once a month crazy shot live stream until I get media attention and can go on some kinda tv show .

Also every shot thats defended is gonna be some crazy ass space hook so that getting blocked isnt a possibility 

But I can shoot from anywhere? Am I at my current athleticism? Cause even if you can hit ¹⁰⁰⁄₁₀₀ but can’t defend I dunno if that’s too good and teams would pay for that. And if you can get blocked I dunno many players that are unathletic and under 6 foot and can’t defend getting on any team regardless of shooting prowess.
