Statham didn’t make the Olympics in diving, but he almost did. He represented England in the Commonwealth games, and competed comps that would have got him to the Olympics three times.

I think they would’ve been equally bad at the other’s jobs. Statham was a good athlete but he never played ball and he’s short. He didn’t have the skills or the size to play PF in the NBA. Tatum is a good looking dude and seems to have good physical presence, but he has negative charisma, he can’t seem to look into a camera comfortably, and he never sounds natural when he’s on camera. Having to watch him act on a big screen would probably be painful.
