When I saw Heat Bron block Thiago Splitter at the apex in the Finals that’s when I knew right away I would put him at Center when this thread came up.

Lakers Bron at the 1. He’s more seasoned and less agile, so he’s going to play the game more. He can still drive the lane when he needs to, but understands playmaking great.

76ers Bron at the 2. He’s the oldest and craftiest. He can shoot wherever you need him, he can do it all, but he’s also the oldest. We use this Bron as a three and D.

Rookie Bron at the 3. This is our slasher, hard impact, fastest most athletic of the bunch.

Cleveland 2 is the 4. He’s coming down from his max prime, but he’s still the best player in the world. Hes gonna chase down people like Iguadala, and work with Heat Bron at the 5, who is one of the best players of all time, not just defensively but all time.

Folks act like he was bad defensively in Miami, but that’s just cus they hated him so much. LeBron James has never been a truly bad defensive player and this was his prime.

First Cavs stint - SG (he played SG as a rookie and was at his thinnest then but wasn’t a PG yet)

Primarily because in that era a tall super smart guard wouldn’t need to run up and down the floor and you could have Bron run plays while conserving his body and return Cavs Bron was strong as all heck but just not as fast so he could anchor your defense against the bigger bodies but punish them in the post.

Now if you’re playing in the 2020’s well this is where the strategy comes into play on how defenses have evolved.

The center by this point is pretty much a nice to have as we have seen that teams who have great ones are few and far between as the game is now on the wings. SG/SF Cavs-Heat Bron are way too efficient on offense and good enough on defense that the liability in the paint doesn’t matter 25 other teams don’t have a good enough Center to make it matter. Rookie Bron just needs to be a slasher at the point

I think it depends on which version or Lakers Lebron you are talking about. There is a big difference between 2020 Lebron and 2026 Lebron

PG - Sixers Bron, all those years of experience make him perfect to orchestrate the offense. Might get burned on D, but he has to go somewhere.

SG - Lakers Bron, I didn’t know where else to put him

SF - Return Cavs Bron, LeBronto (😔) in his natural position

C - Heat Bron, this is Bron at the peak of his physical powers, perfect for matching up with true big men

Rationale: playing at C he’ll be undersized, so better take him at his top athleticism, which is likely the Heat years.

Sixers Bron should be PG because it’s least taxing athletically - he can play PG a la Nash or Kidd, mostly distributor, less scorer.

Lakers Bron as SG because his 3P got better with age, so you need a later version of him.

The two Cavs versions are left at the forward spots. I’m putting Return Bron as PF because he was fully matured athletically and able to best use his prowess. This leaves Rookie Bron as SF.

Their offensive positions are irrelevant right? Since they’re all just passing, cutting, and driving. Whoever the c/pg are guarding you’re just putting into mismatches and overwhelming with power or driving past with speed.

I know a lot of you are taking it very seriously, but you’re not considering that 5Brons is the epitome of positionless basketball, and while it makes sense to have Heat bron to play the 5 on defense, he is definitely not going to play the 5 on offense. 

So the positioning is very different for 5Brons team on D and O.

Defense - Heat at 5, rest 4 doesn’t matter. Can do kind of a semi zone because Brons are so good at jumping passing lanes and getting into fast breaks. Switch the perimeter defenders to keep everyone sharp.

Offense - pure PnR every play, because with lebron’s playmaking, any ISO play (drive and kick) is a waste of one of the most talented playmaking teams you can come up with hypothetically. 

Lakers+76ers Bron will be floor spacers. They shoot well and they need to conserve enery for defense. Heat+Return Cavs Bron PnR all day (they can switch on primary ball handling duties in case Heat bron has a tough center matchup on defense). Put their defenders in movement all day and make the right play. Rookie Bron play dunker spot. If Heat Bron is too exhausted (won’t ever happen but still), rookie Bron switch to pick setter role and Heat Bron go in dunker spot. 

Has anyone considered the absurdity of defending this hypothetical team in transition? You’re having any of the three later Brons running down the floor flanked by rookie or heat LeBron crashing the rim faster than everyone else on the floor.
