Vezenkov in my opinion.

He wasn’t there for the ²⁰²³⁄₂₄ season since he was with the Kings, but ever since he returned he got back to the amazing form he had before going to the NBA.

Won the MVP and was the Euroleague Top Scorer this year, as well as playing a major part in Olympiacos winning the Euroleague title.

He also got selected to the All-Euroleague First Team the year before that, and was the Playoffs MVP that season as well.

He’s by far the most consistent star player in the Euroleague and a perennial MVP candidate, whose team is always amazing during the regular season and a candidate to win the title.

To avoid confusion, being the best player in Europe ≠ being the best fit for the NBA.

This sent me down a rabbit hole since I was always disappointed after the hype he got that he went to Sacramento post-beam and just never really existed. Always wondered what he could’ve done in a better run team. But now looking back at the transactions that got him out of Sac and waived so he could go back to Europe, I’d forgotten just how awful it was. He got sent to Toronto with Davion Mitchell and Jamal Shead and a second rounder for Jalen McDaniels, who they immediately dumped to the Spurs with another second for absolutely nothing. So because they didn’t want to eat his money themselves they had to get rid of two guys who ended up being pretty decent last year and two second rounders. Yet another Kings masterclass
