The thing is both him and Trae are facing the fact they are small guards who can’t shoot. You can’t do that in the modern NBA. You gotta space the floor as a small guy. Trae’s outlook is better because he is arguably the best passer in the league, but Ja doesn’t have an edge. He’s lost a lot of the athleticism that made him special. That and his archetype is not valuable anymore. If he got drafted 10 years earlier, he’d be looked at as a perennial all-nba guy. He’s gotta show something new this coming season or this could be it
