Totally worth it, especially since what you spend can be used for stash tabs and other inventory tabs that you’ll likely want/need in end game. Plus, this league is going all the way to December so plenty of time to experience the mechanics. But as someone mentioned, they are still working out bugs and it is a beta test, but it’s still VERY good with loads of content.

I would say wait since theres another game you want to try and probably by the time you finish NMS PoE2 will be FTP and the storyline will be complete.

I will say, I never played an ARPG before POE2. I saw the trailer and bought in on release. I have put so many more hours into this game than I ever expected. Everything about it is incredible, with the exception of some design elements I find to be unfairly difficult. The bosses however are one of the biggest highlights.

It depends. For me it wouldn’t be worth the money, because I’m going to be spending a lot of the time before PoE2 release playing the next two PoE1 updates. And PoE1 is already free.

But if you’re not already a PoE1 player, then that’s not really a concern and you can pack in a lot of playtime before release.

If you complete it you get a piece of decoration that wont be available again. Im 1100 hours deep and see no end! Best time to learn and experiment is right now in my opinion!

It’s a full ass game as is, and will be even better at 1.0. More content and shit to grind than any other arpg that isn’t poe1. Easily worth $30, but everyone has different scales of value. Personally between the 2 I would go PoE2 in a landslide, but NMS is also a very good game also with a ton to do. It would really boil down to personal taste cause they are vastly different games. I’d like to think you are already aware of whether you like arpgs or not, side if olive never played one and go straight to poe it will be a bit overwhelming

Like others have recommended. But if money is tight mind as well get no man’s sky for now and just play poe2 when it’s fully released.

Dawg, def buy it now. It’s so good and honestly as a newer player myself there are A LOT of systems and mechanics that you’ll need to learn. I’m 200 hrs in and have played like 2 characters to end game and still feel I don’t have a full understanding of EVERYTHING. Playing now will get you ahead of everyone else that hasn’t played when it releases since you’ll be more familiar with the systems and mechanics. Just take ya time when you get it tho. It’s definitely a lot.

If you are a hardcore arpg player buy PoE2. Learn the dmg scaling and defenses now before the big patch

Path of Exile 2 is 100% worth spending $30 on. With that said No Man’s Sky is absolutely worth buying! It has come a long, long way since they released it. I’ve played it for 1,016 hours. Best of luck deciding!

I have over 300 hours this league and I can easily pump in 600+ more hours by 1.0. Jump in

So, here’s the thing. If you want to wait for the game to be free, you’ll be able to play the campaign just fine, but once you get to the endgame you’ll want to spend ²⁰⁄₃₀ bucks anyways. There’s no pay-to-win mechanics, but the inventory gets essentialy un-manageable at that point without some paid stash tabs

So if you like the game you’ll end up paying that money anyways (heck, chances are you’ll spend even more hehe). And it already has more than enough content to justify the purchase

Also, from what I remember, you get ingame points if you buy the game now, and you can buy stashes (not mandatory, but is a BIG QOL).

Also, if I am not wrong, you will get also a skin at launch.

Since the most recent content update the game is actually great. You will definitely get your money’s worth if you buy it now. So if you really want to play it, no real reason to wait. Plus, the 30 bucks you spend will give you points for MTX purchases which, if you plan on playing the game a lot long-term, you will honestly spend anyway even if you wait for free-to-play.

But waiting for full release isn’t necessarily a bad idea either. The game will probably get almost twice the content on 1.0 release (2 new acts for full campaign, more endgame mechanics/bosses/general content, most likely several new classes…)

100% worth it now. Anyone saying otherwise either doesn’t play the game and thus doesn’t know what they are talking about, or are the holier-than-thou type that hate EA games and wish it was still 2003 when games released at 1.0.

I was just reflecting on this yesterday. I have put in 568 hours into this game, and I never played PoE1.

It’s the most insane return on $30 I’ve ever experienced in like, ever.

I’ve played for hundreds of hours only to realize I’m not having fun… There is the addiction factor, but I realized I was having all the frustration with none of the fun after the campaign (where most hours were).

To be fair, even for only the campaign 30 bucks is fair, however the Late game grond (even with the new update) is just not it for me. I quit last week and started playing random Indy games on ps+, enjoying myself way more.  (Shout out to the game “The invincible”. Was a great, albeit short, experience.

Stash tabs are such a huge QoL improvement you’ll end up waiting to get the game for free just to end up spending the \(30 on tabs and wondering why you didn’t just buy it now since you get \)30 of coins with EA.

So I’d say get it now, then save your coins until you can buy tabs when they are discounted around next week.

Best \( ive ever spend gaming wise, ever.I believe i went for the 60\) edition as i knew beforehand i needed the coins for storage upgrades and things, and to support it more. Since its gonna be F2P when fully launched. Which is awesome. Im not the type of gamer that is up to date with devs and follow everything. But from what i see, and what they keep releasing even new league for poe1 is just insane to me. I quit a few times, and long periods and came back to always “newer” and “more” content. Eithers its classes, skills, weapons, maps. Its just allot. I lately got back into it again and man oh man im having a blast

Can you not play on PS5? Only asking bc if you ever decide to swap over, you won’t have your MTXs. I know people have said that going from PC to PS5, your MTXs do not carry over thanks to Sony’s greedy policies. So IMO if you have a proper PC, I’d recommend playing on PC only. If not, and you plan to buy a PC in the near future, whenever these insane prices go down due to the damn RAM shortage caused by Ai, then you won’t lose too much money. You only need the currency tab, waypoint tab, fragment tab, and 1 or 2 merchant tabs. Keep an eye out for those bc they go on sale 1 weekend every month. You can get all those tabs for like 30\( and be set for 1000s of hours, literally. IMO, if you have the extra \)30, then buy it ASAP. I say this bc Path of Exile 2 (and 1) is notorious for adding layers and layers of damage scaling, defense scaling, and crafting methods that make the game more and more complex. The sooner you start, the quicker you learn how to understand these complex mechanisms.

All the positive comments are correct, the only thing to be careful for is the fact that the game is subject to large changes still.

The game is already so different from day 1 of pre access, due to this, you may like it now but they end up changing everything that made you like it.

For that reason, i say be careful. Great quality content, but there’s no telling what they will change.

You get currency when you buy the game that can be put towards the stash tabs you need anyway.
I wouldn’t wait just because it’s going to be free on release. You’ll want to spend money on the game then as well.

yeah, its definitely worth the $$ especially considering how much you play.

If you’re going to play this for a long time then it’s absolutely worth the money now because that money will go towards something you will want to purchase anyway; stash tabs.

I have 87 hours in NMS where i got ²¹⁄₂₇ achievements and finished main plot.

I have 1.1k hours in PoE2.

Each new league is a fresh new game if you play it now when it’s the best it’s ever been, you’ll be able to get a fresh new experience during the official launch too.

At his point id wait for release, we’re getting a season probably before then but then you’re paying a premium to play one league. The current league is pretty much going into maintenance mode this week. Unless you have money too spend and want to dip your toes its a pretty good game currently

You’re paying to be a beta tester of a fully monetized game with bugs. So if you’re fine with paying for an incomplete product, go for it. If you’d rather wait for a full product before spending any money, don’t go for it.
