Can anyone help fix please?
I’ve heard this is a common problem. Replace your cast on meta gem. They get bricked for YOUR character. Others can use it. No clue why
Happened to me when I was changing gear and went negative spirit so had to cut a new cast on gem
Yeah its a very weird bug. Surprised it wasnt fixed yet.
it’s broken for your character, make a new one and move on.
You can give it to a friend. They can equip it. Unequipped it and give it back. And it’ll be fixed.

Swap your weapons from set 1 to 2
I was stuck on this bug for an hour yesterday. Could either get CoEA or CoC to work but not both. Tried every fix out there (changing the casted spell, disabling/enabling weapon swap i and ii), which has worked for me before but nothing fixed it. I just crafted a new CoEA and sold my broken one. Hopefully the bug doesn’t transfer when sold!!
it doesnt transfer, as a matter of fact you can trade it to someone, let them equip it than trade it back and it will work again.
Do you meet the requirements to use socketed comet? Level, int?
Yes, i’m 156 int and it requires 147
Does that apply to Booth weapon Sets? (in Case you use both weapon Sets)
Just for testing purposes give yourself +5 from the tree and see if it corrects itself
Ive had this happen so many times, twice last night… assuming the weapon set passives are correct than the only fix is to buy a new one and sell that one……or have someone equip that gem and than trade it back to you. its a known bug
i had herald skills unselect themselves from both weapon sets after i moved stuff around. I forget what error is showed but it was no help. No idea why it unselected the weapon sets but it’s happened 5 or 6 times this season.
I got all my gems bricked, have to replace them with new ones…or just trade between friend
Try removing CoEA and then ctrl+clicking it into your skill panel.
Had this one of my aura skill. I respec all my skill points, changers gear, asked friend to trade and check it, did everything and nothing helped. Then I just installed another skill gem and it was fine. No idea why, just a bug.
that bug where the gem just decides your build is wrong is actually wild to me. i had a support gem brick itself in act 2 and the game just silently hated me until i noticed my damage dropped. poe2 is so good at making you question your own gear before you realize the game itself is the problem.
Ok so i have found one solution for it and that is switched your weapon to a different set and it’ll work But if your build has 2 weapons then just buy a new gem cuz respecing tree is not worth it
But for single weapon build this works.
Welcome to the spirit bugs. Vendor it cut a new one and if you get insufficient spirit on one replace your dualing wand with any other wand.
Probably lacking intelligence stat or some other stat that you are overusing support gems for. Sometimes the math doesn’t work with stats on gear and passives and your gems. It looks like you have enough but don’t. Try removing some support gems to see if the ! goes away, then you’ll know what you’re missing. The missing socketed skill probably means you don’t have enough intelligence for the comet gem. It also has to be equipped for the specific weapon set you are using. Also need the stats for both weapon sets for it to be used or sometimes it bugs there also.
