The Los Angeles Clippers remain interested in re-signing restricted free agent Bennedict Mathurin, league sources told HoopsHype. However, the Clippers are hesitant to make significant roster decisions as Kawhi Leonard’s Aspiration investigation remains ongoing and has held up his expected trade to the Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, Mathurin has drawn sign-and-trade interest from several teams, sources said, after the 24-year-old swingman averaged a career-high 17.6 points last season.

That just makes it worse considering he’s still at a superstar level but literally no team is allowed to even ask for him at the very last years of his peak because the NBA wants you to assume all the punishment that comes with him.

As a raps fan, I don’t get why raps fans are that mad at this. We aren’t making any more deals this summer anyways. Most likely just bringing in Demar for a vet min. Not super sure what they’d be waiting on though, which makes me think it might not happen. It’s probably hurting the Clippers more, but too bad for them.

The one annoying part of it, is the longer the league takes the clippers arguably get more trade strength. Since they clearly don’t care about Kawhi anymore, so even if the trade dies then they’ll just hold him out. For the raps, if the trade dies we’re fucked having to bring BI and Gradey back. If Kawhi gets suspended for a substantial amount of games they better be taking some picks off the trade, but can see the raps having to cave.
