Pulling off a triple play is just as about luck as it’s about skill. The ball being hit on the ground to the third baseman right at the bag made a huge difference since the out at 3B would be instanteous. If the ball was hit to the SS who then had to throw to 3B then the guy running to 1B would’ve probably been safe.
As someone who’s only been watching baseball a couple years this is pretty cool to see for the first time.

Behold my crazy scenario:
It’s a drop 3 strike and they throw to first and it’s bobbled, but they get the tag on the runner and he’s out.
The runner on second forgets there’s someone on third or he thinks the guy on 3B is running home, regardless he’s way off the bag. Realizing he’s got to get back to second he gets caught in a run down, the runner on 3B thinks this is a great opportunity to score a run during all this confusion. The 2B runner gets tagged out in the rundown and the 3B runner gets tagged out at home.
Technically 4 outs. Entirely possible, I’ve seen a very similar play happen, except for nobody got out 😓

I would hate to be the batter in this situation, where all you have to do to avoid a triple play is to not hit a ball sharply towards the 3rd baseman. And then you do the exact thing.
