This doesn’t make sense at all. Looks like crappy reporting. 1) hawks are not really interested in s&t because they already have 16 players under contract and they are going into luxury tax just so that Kuminga can sign somewhere else. Cavs would have to pay a hefty premium just for that. 2) a s&t would put the Cavs hard capped at first apron. They would have to shed some serious salary to do that, and Kuminga is not worth the trouble

The Cleveland scenario just doesn’t make sense especially at the asking price he wants and how tied up they’re are financially. Getting LeBron is one thing and is likely done at a severe discount but Kuminga is a wholly different type of player looking for something significantly higher. If he doesn’t get the contract he wants is he going to buy in? You could argue potential wise he’s an upgrade over Strus but he’s not going to take the ball out of Harden or Mitchell’s hands, and for a young guy trying to make a name for himself that could get tricky.

Hmm. I’m not sure about this. But if true, the Cavs might be one of the only teams that can do a sign and trade right about now.. he’s looking at signing the minimum for 1year, otherwise

I’m certainly biased because I’m a Lakers fan, but Kuminga just doesn’t work on the Cavs. They have a gap at the 3, but Kuminga is very much a 4 in the modern NBA. In a lineup with Mobley and Allen, you need a 3 who can really shoot the ball. That’s not Kuminga. He is an energetic, slashing, fast break style scorer who can occasionally make a jumper or two. Shooting is not his strength. From a roster building perspective, this move just makes no sense.
