Jeff Teague on Anthony Davis saying he’s playing all 82 games next season: “I got a hundred bands that he don’t play all 82”
I got a hundred bands that he doesn’t play 65
Since being traded from the Lakers he’s played in 31 games (play-in games included)
(play-in games included)
Glad we clarified lol
Was reading it aloud to my buddy and before I could finish he was rabidly asking “what about play-in games! what about play in games!”. I held a finger up in silence, waited until his fury had abated, and added the aside that play-in games were included in the number.
I don’t have 100 bands. But I’ll bet my $32.55 left over after paying my bills that he doesn’t play 82.
Look at Mr. Money bags having $32.55 that he can set aside for nearly a year without needing it.
I know it’s tacky to flaunt my wealth this way…
Now what you’re gonna want to do is deposit that at your local credit union
BUT
Not all at once. Bring a couple bucks this week, a few more the next.
Before you know it you’ll be on a first name basis with the manager and they’ll be willing to give you a loan because you’ve shown dedication by showing up every week. Shit maybe even go every day. Then with that loan you can finally buy a piece of the American dream by betting on Anthony Davis’ availability
realistically he may only need to wait 2 games into the season lol
I got a hundred bands he doesn’t play 55
I got two hundred bands he doesn’t play 50
[removed]
I actually wanna bet this
Zion vs Davis to get to 61 played, who ya got
Together maybe
I don’t bet on sports
But I’d bet on the under easily
Under would be like -30000 lmao
still easy money LMAO
If you put \(10,000 on it, you could make an easiest \)33.33 of your lifetime. Would just have to be willing to have that money tied up in an app for a whole year lol.
Tying up \(10k for a year for a \)33 return would be the worst investment ever lol
holding SpaceX stock is much worse
No. Some people actually lose money over time. Not just to inflation.
From a results based assessment, yes.
From a process based assessment, an investment that ties up \(10k for a year with a maximum potential yield of \)33 would be a hall of fame bad investment. Most unsuccessful investments at least have an idea of higher return.
The shittiest CD is infinitely better with no risk
And you can get it back after half a year, to boot!
You could put it in a fixed percentage high yield savings account that would make 10x the rate of return. The inflation concern is irrelevant because it would be the same in either scenario whether it’s tied up in a bet slip or savings account.
Yes some people lose money due to risk. This is like intentionally losing money. You can get \(400 easily with no risk for a year in money market with \)10,000.
you dont need to wait for the whole year, He probably going get injured after 10 games while not playing basketball lol
they don’t pay out as soon as the bet is won, they wait until the period (1 season) is over
They don’t do that for O/U for team wins. It pays when it mathematically hits.
Just put that shit into S&P500 and you’d highly likely be better off in 1 year than that $33 lol
Literally just put it in a bank lmao. Even 1% interest will triple that return basically risk free.
In the extremely unlikely event that AD actually plays 82 games, you would very likely miss that 10K. In the extremely unlikely event that the FDIC goes kaput, money might not matter to you much at all.
Dog just buy t bills
literally .. give me the 10k and I’ll give you a $35 return
You could literally put it in a bank with virtually zero risk and make at minimum 5 times that amount.
Just put it in a High yield savings lmaooo
You’d make a couple cents off that bet
It’s not gambling when you know you’re gonna win.
Everyone would.
That’s an insanely easy bet against any starting bigman, let alone AD
I’d pretty much bet against anyone playing all 82 until they have a history (3+ seasons) of doing so.
18 guys played all 82 and most of them were role players or are non-scorers
Oh totally agree, when I said “insanely easy bet against any starting bigman” I was comparing it to the regular easy of betting against any particular player to play 82.
I’d bet Mikael going for 82, that’s about it.
It ain’t the “easy money” you think it is lol
Its easy money - even if he is “healthy” they are going to manage his minutes - but you would make way more money just putting that money in the bank.
Dude I wish this was true but obviously it ain’t happening. I am so excited for this Wizards team next season so let’ s just pretend for awhile, yeah?
What if they play him 15 min a game
I’d bet at a prediction market but I’d be tying up my money for months for a low return. No way does that baby back bitch play every game.
Has he ever played all 82 games??
The most games he played was the 2023-2024 season 76 games
Hes played 71 games total since then.
He’s nearly played an entire season in the past 4 seasons
Bro needs to get on Zions level no cap
He’s like a fragile Embiid
Fragile and Embiid is basically synonmyous at this point man. no disrespect but hope he plays a lot of games this season as well.
At what point does this fact start impacting how much he gets paid, or is the name factor alone worth for teams to pay him that much? Considering the fact people cant get younger aswell if he cant play many games and his contract ends when hes ~35 years old wont it tank his value?
Entirely fair chance he’ll play less than 82 more games for the rest of his career.
Before Brown was traded I wish he was traded to Philly just for the street clothes vibes and then Championship run with Embiid.
That’s wild ngl
And that was already miraculous. 82 needs some kind of divine intervention.
AD is somehow playing FIFA out there with the number of times he’s in agonizing pain per game. I swear nobody gets hurt on the court more than that dude.
He would need one of those seasons where he was traded to a team with more games left to play halfway through. Like that guy who played 83 games.
He can do it if he played like one minute in each game. But even that is a tall order
I don’t remember which season it was but when he was with the Pels I remember listening to a podcast and the hosts were exasperated. He had just broken a finger while dunking. They were like, “most of these injuries have nothing to do with each other. What is it going to take for him to be able to play without injuring himself”. It’s wild looking at his career now.
Don’t think a single All-Star from last year played 82 games, Scottie Barnes is the closest with 80 played, but most players are like 60 - 73~ games.
Honestly wonder how far back you’d have to go to find an All-Star that did play all 82. I’d probably be betting “a hundred bands” against pretty much any top level player doing a full 82 games in the modern NBA.
Domantas Sabonis wasn’t All-Star, but he was All-NBA, 82 games in 2024 season. Jokic played all 72 games of the shortened 2021 season when he was All-Star, All-NBA, and MVP. For 82 games and All-Star specifically, 2019. Kemba Walker and Bradley Beal.
Yeah but do those all stars claim they are playing all 82 games almost every season and the proceed to play a lot less than 82 games?
Beal did it back to back years.
he’s about to check in for the minimum amount of minutes required for it to count as a game and do a light jog around the court while he’s in the game. 0 defense. only catch and shoot.
It would be so goddamn funny if this is the year he randomly decides to become an iron man.
Even if he did he would still not play all 82 games. No coach would even let him.
they’d trot him out there for 5 minutes on rest nights if AD really forced the issue
No player is tanking his per-game stats to pad games played.
Didn’t Mobley play in a couple rest games last season just to keep his ironman streak alive? Or was that somebody else?
For comparing starters to other starters (and bench players to other bench players), per-36 >>>
edit: I was thinking of Mikal Bridges, not Evan Mobley. Thought it was a Cavs player for some reason.
Yeah, one or two games to protect a streak is possible but with AD we’re talking 10+ games even without injury.
Playing 3 minutes in 10 rest games = 1 game worth of playing time.
Because AD doesn’t have a streak going, IDK why he’d want to do this unless he really wants to prove that he can play 82 games or something. I doubt that he feels the urge to do that.
At the same time, I doubt that the Wizards’ FO would say no if AD, for some silly reason, really did want to this. Maybe the FO would insisnt on only playing AD for ~1 minute instead of for 3.
Just from a practical standpoint, there’s probably a lot of prep and “pre-workout” that guys do to get ready to play for real. If he was only available for 3 minutes of garbage time then he could go in cold, but I still wonder if the risk of injury is higher without proper warmup.
Yeah. Pre-game workouts & warmups are probably the biggest reasons why no player is likely force their way into playing a trivial number of minutes rather than take entire rest games.
Injury risk is super low during workouts/warmups, and you basically need to do them to avoid injuries in the actual game. You end up putting in a ton of work for very little reward. Any player going out of their way to do this for more than a game or two person season would really have to be on a mission to prove something.
!remindme 8 months
Tbf he sat out most of last season, surely hes healed and rested going in to this one.
Me too Jeff
He’s more likely to get 82 towel spanks
We should just all pool in this bet
i dont gamble
Zero chance in hell
Beyond AD, how many dudes on average play 82 games anymore? Not even stars, just anyone. Feels like playing more than like 75 is a significant outlier anymore.
2025-2026: 18
2024-2025: 11
2023-2024: 17 (including Buddy Hield who actually played in 84 games)
2022-2023: 10
2021-2022: 5
so we haven’t even had 20 in a single season from 2021-2022 on. Though seeing 18 this past year is interesting considering we had 5, 10, and 11 three of the other 4 years.
So even taking AD’s health issues out of the picture good luck with that.
Brandin Podziemski 😤
^(lmao)
hey man, credit to a dude for going out there and hooping every night, not gonna throw shade.
It’s why the “You shouldn’t be considered for mvp if you play under 65 games” feels stupid to me because the average for mvp candidate felt like it was below 70 games.
white dude here, how much is 100 bands?
100k
thank you. I love AD but I would bet every penny I have he doesn’t play 82 games.
100 racks
if I was dumb enough to gamble I’d bet my house and car on it
Hey Silver, this guy doesn’t gamble yet…
….can we get some more gambling ads this season?
I, too, will take the free money!
That’s crazy Jeff. I can’t even name 100 bands
Lmao who is betting against u tho we all know he’s lying 😂
He is factoring in our finals run when he says 82
That dude definitely gambles on NBA games.
AD is saying all the right things, which is exactly what you would expect from someone seeking a contract extension.
What is the point of these posts? A guy says he wants to play all 82 games and you troll him for wanting to play lol. Weird ass behaviour
He can say w/e he wants, but if he wants to be taken seriously he can start with a realistic goal.
It doesn’t matter what he says. If he says 60 he gets clowned on for acknowledging that he won’t play all year, acknowledging his body won’t hold up. The question has no right answer in the social media world as most don’t.
Every game is the correct PR answer. It says he plans to play as much as possible, it says he thinks he’s healthy enough to do so. We all know it won’t happen even if he is healthy enough to do so every game. Players just don’t play every game anymore, especially aging players with injury histories. It’s just that simple.
Tonight only. PJ Tucker. 5 threes. \(1000 wins you \)3,000,000.
I’d love to see a line on this
AD himself wouldn’t take the over on 81.5 games.
I think a realistic number would be around 55
Bet is probably already on Kalshi after this
I will be surprised if AD plays more than 40 games
Odds gonna be like -3M
I’d take the under on 82 games played for any NBA player, even if they didn’t have AD’s injury history.
he has sat out roughly 28.4% of all available regular season games lmao
He wouldn’t even be able to stay healthy enough to check in for 82 games 😂
Anthony Davis has missed 28.4% of NBA games over his career
AD has played 807 out of a possible 1127 regular season games, 14 seasons. This is accounting for the COVID season and season after.
AD has never played 82 games in a season, the most games he has played is 76 and 75 twice. That number then dips to 68 games.
Aside from those 3 season outliers, he has missed 17% or more of games in 11⁄14 seasons.
If you actually bet 100000 on this you might get a couple hundred bucks back
The man won’t even see 65 games.
He could probably collect that payout in November.
Lol, bet \(100k to win \)100 with those odds.
He meant 28.
We need to stop turning everything into a betting situation…
First are we all that addicted to gambling that this is a normal thing now?
Second, why are we wishing that a player, a person, isn’t healthy?
I don’t have 100 bands, but if the bet was available I’d find 100k to put a wager on that.
I will remortgage my house, sell my car, take up new loans, and bet that he doesnt play 82 games. Heck I’ll even throw in my gold fish into the mix
This podcast looks like a commercial
This is the kind of bet where you bet a hundred bands to win seventy-five
I’d bet my house on this. No fucking way in hell AD makes it to 82 games, unless he’s just talking about appearing on the bench.
they gotta make AD play in every game now just to call teague’s bluff.
What a perfect time to get into gambling
I’d say Davis is gonna miss a game by game 5 of the season, he ain’t playing 82 games
He’s going to stub his toe the first game walking out of the tunnel and be out for 10 games.
He didn’t say which games though
I don’t know if I bet on any 33 year old playing 82.
I got 100 rubber bands on that he wont either
All of these guys copy Jeff Teague’s voice and sound like some mumbling fools 💀 lmao
Probably plays less then 60
The only thing that gives me pause is this is the last year before AD’s player option, which he can decline to then sign a fresh high dollar extension, and is clearly the last opportunity for him.
The year before he got traded to Dallas he ended up playing in 76 games, which was the year immediately after he got crucified more than normal for missing games (I think the 23 playoff was the year chuck and other talking heads started using his nicknames to rag on him).
He surely won’t be healthy for 82, but he might just be ballsy enough to suit up and step on the floor, even if he runs to the locker room or checks out early a bunch of games.
Bruh, what else is AD supposed to say 🤣
For us commoners, how much is a band?
A thousand.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_strap
He means $1000 strapped up like this.
bro played 76 games last season and suddenly thinks he’s Mikal Bridges
Dude has run out of content. Now he’s just podcasting reddit shitposts
AD must not be very bright because why would he set himself up for failure like that? This is going to become a meme when he inevitably gets hurt. He could’ve just said his goal was 70 games or something like that.
Right before game 82, Jeff orders a Tonya Harding. The 70 win Wizards are in shambles.
i bet its a line already
If I was on the coaching staff I would be nervous of him playing that much and would try to rest him to avoid tempting fate.
He meant 82 minutes this year not games .
He a beast breh
He should have a clothing deal and wear their clothes exclusively when sitting on the bench, hurt. Good exposure for the brand.
What’s the over/under on games played on the predictiob markets?
We’re not expecting him to play 82, just give us 60
He wont even play 28 gamea
A real \(100k? Or \)1,500 like the $100k in Bijan Bucks
Day to Davis ain’t playing 65 games lol
Maybe AD got the numbers switched up, I think he meant he’s playing 28 games
Easiest money that Jeff Teague will ever make. It’s not shooting at fishes in a barrel, it’s looking at fishes in a barrel.
Do you all really just know how much a band is. Or we all just too afraid to ask?
Who does these days?
unrelated but holy fuck this set is so damn busy. literally lights and colors everywhere yet it’s dark on the hosts. jesus christ.
This was funny but I want to hear them respond to the rest of that comment too - Paul Pierce said he’s a better scorer than KD and Tracy McGrady???
Finally one thing we can all agree with Jeff Teague on :)
There were only 18 players in the entire league who played 82 last year. No way this happens
He shouldn’t even try to play 82 games. Might as well load manage from the start and just try to stay healthy for as long as possible.
How can I get in on this
In the past 8 seasons, he’s played over 60 games twice. No hate to AD but it’s most likely he plays 50-60 games.
Street Clothes playing 82? LOL aint no way.
The line is 41.5
Honestly that goes for any player these days. I’d be surprised if more than 5% of the league hit 82 games these days.
Kalshi
I’d put my life savings on him playing less than 30 games
sitting on a wheelchair
Not to detract from this being about AD but almost no one plays 82 games a year. This is a stupid f****** comment from a stupid f****** guy
18 guys played 82 games last year.
69 players played 70+.
Your post is funny knowing you self-censored.
What a brave take
Dude that’s the easiest best ever.
I’d even bet 70 games.
Sucker barely played 82 seconds in his debut for us before missing the next 18 games
60 games tops.
How much is a band?
100 or 1000…I think
1000
Hater. Why do we we have to tear each other down? We should be empowering each other.
Tearing each other down? They are just speaking the truth.
man even the mvp didnot play 82 games and so expecting 82 out of him would be barking mad!! but that dont mean he cant play at all!! he could easily put up 50+ games this season!! i am expecting atleast 45 because ad is so good, he is like a dream pf for every team!! can shoot, defend, block and is also battle tested and a champion, so i would say worst case scenarios ad could get injured in the season, but comes back in the playoffs and dominates like he ussually does!! so stop hating on him!!
Haha let’s all collectively laugh at his history of physical pain and misfortune
he won’t play 40
Looking at the reddit thread here https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1skiju2/a_total_of_18_out_of_582_players_played_in_all_82/
Yeah its pretty much impossible to confidently say you will play all 82 games lol, pretty much everyone misses games. As a starter ur pretty prone to injury at some point, even if a light one but you wont play all games. Or ur missing games to take a conditioning break so you wont injure yourself. AD should have started promising at around 50 games lmao we will see if he makes it there
guessing 40 games. best result would be 55.
And I’m guessing he wins one if he’s right! The odds on that bet have to be so bad.
What’s a band?
Cymbals ate grand
Jeff Teague, even as a player, never even had the want to play that many games regardless of his injury status lol
