[Highlight] When Russell Westbrook Dropped a Record Breaking 57 Point Triple Double On The Road in Orlando With Game Tying 3
Imagine prime Russ with 5 out spacing instead of Andre Roberson and adams
I think Adams was fine cuz he functioned as a sort of release valve in the dunker for those bullet passes/dumpoffs.
Roberson was actually a eugenicist tho
Prime Russ, rose, wade, first CLE stint LeBron .. these guys with 5 out would’ve been insane
Your wording made me think you meant those five on the same team and i started laughing. Hahahahahah can you imagine. That would be a hilarious team. They would be defended by 5 guys camping the paint
Imagine Russ and LBJ bulldozing the rim together tho
Instead of going to Miami, LeBron goes to OKC in 2010 to team up with Durant, Westbrook, and Harden and help the young core grow into the juggernaut. Harden and Durant as outside threats, LBJ and Russ as rim attackers/lob gobblers, and any warm body you can find at Center.
After a year of growing pains and a first-round playoff exit, OKC goes on to win the next 3 straight titles. Harden takes a pay cut to stay and gets the team to open a strip club near the stadium as part of the deal. KD initiates the 3pt revolution instead of Curry, though Steph still goes nuclear in 2015 and GSW knocks OKC out in the WCF, at which point LeBron returns to Cleveland to team up with Kyrie and return to glory in 2016.
KD and Harden leave the following year for GSW and HOU and the rest plays out exactly the same.
The team above would be disgusting in transition though, other team would be having trouble setting up. Would just be straight down hill
Adams was really good for Russ. Russ racked up assists on Adams rolling to the basket and running the break.
Yeah but what if you had an Adams-like player who could shoot ~35% from 3
Yeah that’s what happened when he joined the Rockets after the Capela trade and before his late season injuries.
He was insane.
You leave Khal Steveo out of this
russ had negative spacing after KD left
Triple double cocaine bear
Prime Westbrook was something else man. Even his fellow players were in awe of him.
I remember Goran Dragic talking about adjusting to the NBA pace and said something like it wasn’t that bad except alpha guards like Russell were like lions. If they smelled any weakness or hesitancy it was over
Nuclear athleticism is my favorite description of prime Brodie.
It really is amazing stuff to watch. Idk if I just don’t watch enough basketball teams at this point in life, but his driving specifically feels so violent and calculated at a level I just don’t see much.
Everyone was athletic in NBA, but Russ athleticism was so great on court that he didn’t need a consistent jumper. He can out work and out athletes other players, so didn’t really need consistent jump shot.
I was there. Russ always gets my respect. Dude plays hard af every game
Plays hard except when it comes to defense. If Harden, Luka, or Steph made angry faces when putting up horrible shots nobody would question their defense.
Trying times in Orlando, but those games against the Thunder were always fun.
The Russ vs Dipo duels that year were something else man.
edit: Definitely wasn’t in 2016-17 I’m dumb.
Isn’t Dipo on the thunder in this clip
Oh shit you’re right. It’s been so long lol. I think the game I’m thinking of in particular was the the 2OT game in October 2015. 139-136 Thunder. They exchanged buzzer beaters in the 4th and first OT. Looks like KD also had some clutch plays but I probably blocked that out lol. A LOT of clutch blocks in that game as well.
Dipo didn’t actually have that crazy of a game but he was clutch as fuck.
It’s crazy to me that some Magic fans are nostalgic for this time. I’ve never felt more hopeless about a team ever than during this period. I watched my Buccaneers miss the playoffs for 12 years in a row too and still always had more hope for them (which actually paid off).
The fact it took the front office so long to realize that the Vucevic/Fournier/Gordon trio was not serious was maddening, and then there is refusing to accept that Elfrid Payton was holding the team back for years and even making a HC quit over it. We were patient with everyone except the guys that we should’ve been patient with like Oladipo and Harris. Rant over.
Westbrook was born for the dead ball era before stats became a thing. If he did this in 2006 he would be the goat
He won an MVP my friend not sure what you expect.
This is maybe the 5th westbrook video I’ve seen today. Did he announce retirement or something?
I hope so
I don’t know.
Russ always play the game the right way
Russ’ on court behavior is terrible. Absolutely not the right way to play.
How would you say his on court behavior is terrible
nah it’s like debating Green with Warriors flair. You believe what you like.
Forever my GOAT
One thing about okc they definitely know how to pick they’re guards correctly
Just rename it to r/russellwestbrook
wait so he hit the game tying 3 at the end?
Empty stats
