[Highlight] Damian Lillard hits the series winner with 0.9 seconds left to eliminate the Rockets
Happens to the best of us
⌚️👈🏽
Thats a bad shot
i’d say “raptors fan talkin bout bad shots” but i’m sure my team has a heartbreaking playoff game winner
It’s crazy that this shot was the only thing stopping the West first round that year from having 4 game 7s
One of my favorite players ever stylistically
Yep. He’s my favorite out of the 3 point sniper star archtypes. There is just something so electric about his shots
Only guy to make half-court shoots look more casual than Steph, bro literally shoots them like jump shots lmfao
Gilbert Arenas and Vince Carter were the first ones I remember doing this on the regular. Maybe Dan Majerle a bit before them but not as much. Then Curry & Lillard followed
My fault, lemme go watch some footage. Appreciate you putting me on game
There was an all star game one year where ppl had to make a half court shot. Everyone is shooting them like a normal person with a running start. Vince is taking jump shots from NBA half court
I don’t even think that really accurately describes him. He was also so quick to the rim, drew contact well, and was a legitimate floor general. His last couple full seasons with the Blazers he was like a top 8 player in the NBA
was, it ain’t over yet bro smh, y’all will see
My favorite player ever. I think all the time about the what ifs with him. Mostly what if he went to a better franchise :/
It was a tough situation with LA leaving with nothing coming back. We had to soft reset and landed CJ but we’re never getting the big free agent signings here. Neil Oshay was a dog shit GM. We finally get a new GM and a great team and now we get a dog shit owner who is moving the team because he’s poor.
The Wes injury really blew the whole thing up.
In the pantheon of Blazer injuries, that one ranks near the top.
that and the Nurk one are the two that ended the two actual contending teams Stotts had in Portland
I mean, helluva lot of competition there.
Yeah Aldridge leaving really hurt. Had to trade him a year before that.
I am from Michigan and finally decided to adopt a team after the Achilles tear. But you can bet your sorry ass I’m back on the Blazers if Dame is getting big minutes. They could have an exciting team this year as long as the Owner doesn’t fuck it all up by setting bad culture.
Dame will get big minutes. He’s going to age well. Defense was never his strong suit and now he’s for some great defenders. However the owner is determined to move the team no matter what. Real pos.
We didn’t know if Aldridge was going to leave. He took two weeks to decide between us and San Antonio. We didn’t even hit the salary floor that season because we couldn’t commit to being good or bad until he decided
We also are located in Portland. Our biggest signing ever before Damian Lillard was Andre Miller
Hindsight is 20⁄20 but what is that rockets defense? Making 6’9” Parsons chase Dame over the top the screen instead of Pat Bev or Harden switching from under when Dame is clearly looking for the quick inbound with less than a second left.
Watch the Jeremy Lin interview about this play and you’ll get your answer. (Spoiler: they were very confused about the coverage)
Yeah you can watch it because at first Pat Bev is fronting Dame and Parsons is drifting middle like a man defense on lilliard with Parsons roaming the back side, but Harden sets them up as though he thinks they will be switching on the screen. Clearly Pat Bev thinks they are staying man, because he doesn’t even make a move towards Dame and that’s that.
Overall it’s just the non-chalance of James Harden. A pattern in his career in important moments.
Got a link at all?

there weren’t even any screens. by the time Parsons reacted to Dame taking off, he was already too late.
the play was for Aldridge, Dame noticed that Bev and Parsons are confused about the switch and used the opportunity to run for it the moment the inbounder got the ball
Thats why hes agressivelly calling for the ball, he wasnt supposed to be the one getting it, but saw the opportunity
Miscommunication and confusion all around right there
That’s not just hindsight. Bad defensive plan and play that was obvious at that time.
I mean the play was for LaMarcus in the low post, Dame broke the play when he saw them not paying attention, if you watch the behind the basket angle you can see Batum going wtf as the shot is going up
IIRC the play wasn’t even drawn up for him but he heard Parsons and someone else talking confused about who they’re guarding so the second he heard the whistle sprinted out to take advantage. I may be misremembering the first part but second part def remember right.
No hindsight needed. I asked that exact question watching this unfold live a decade ago.
What the fuck is that inbounding defender doing? Dude looks like he’s straight up just given up and isn’t even paying attention to the inbounder.
pathetic but fuck the rockets sooooo
Harden…defense…you might want to rephrase that sentence.
I miss watching him play so much, cant wait for the season to start
Blazer Fan Reaction
Rocket Fan Reaction
wow that blazer fan family’s reaction was incredible
I’ve never seen the clip before
That Rockets family reaction was hilarious. They’re like angry dogs barking at the TV.
I loved that guy in the back who just knew something bad was gonna happen hahaha, had his shirt pulled over his face for the whole lead-up
I’ve seen the gif of that guy rolling into frame and saying “wtf” but never knew it was a rockets fan reaction to this 😂
“That’s a bad shot”
Shot against Paul George actually was bad this is a pretty good look
thats the other game winner vs okc in 2019
Why did this need to be posted today man?
he could’ve posted 0/27 or game 3 of the lakers series last year so its whatever
We have so many low lights they could do this every Friday for the remainder of the year.. easily
Subscribe
They also could’ve posted 13 in 33
regular season meh
still an all-time highlight
We’re remembering the good times before Dundon moves the team
Such a damn shame. Dundon is a horrible owner on every front. Is there anyone worse in the league ATM?
Look at Dame before the ball inbounded. He looks uninterested and lackadaisical to make it seem he’s not getting the ball. Then he sprints into action as soon as the whistle blows. Nice.
It’s crazy he’s ended a series like this twice
Called Dame Time for a reason
Delete this pls
Don’t worry you have 40 year old KD
Don’t worry. I’ve already reported it.
Dread it. Run from it. Dame Time arrives all the same.
So much PNW propaganda going on why
It’s widely speculated that the owner is trying to move the team out of Portland :(
I was living in the Pacific northwest at the time, and remember being at Gold’s Gym when this happened. I happened to glance at the TV between sets and that rest lasted for like 10 mins lol.
Man, when Mike Tirico gets a last-second drama-filled call, he does not disappoint
That’s on Harden/Beverly for not switching onto Lillard.
Absent and confused defense. Should have kept Jeremy Lin in the game who was guarding Dame well all game
If I remember correctly, post-game interview, McHale scapegoated Lin and blamed him for the lost.
Really just confirms my feeling that is not based on much, that McHale is a dumb asshole
Legendary Tirico call
Why does this video make look like it’s from the 90s
Which do you guys think was better, this shot vs Houston or against OKC?
This one for me, easily. Down 2 and 0.9 left > tied and dribbling down the clock. Plus it happened first so it will always be sweeter.
PG13 be like “That’s a bad shot”
Never forget this moment was made possible by LaMarcus cooking Dwight Howard, especially early in the series.
Almost the same exact way that Brandon Roy got a GW too against the Rockets. Unbelievable.
I wonder if it’s the same outcome had Jeremy Lin been on him as he did for two quarters before
Not today, Satan.
Some guys are built for the big moment!
James Harden: I think I’ll leave the slow white dude out on an island against the quickest guy in the league. Nothing bad can happen, right?
Common Jeremy Lin W
AYO WTF
This was during my HS prom night. I got fucking blasted after this and my buddy had to drive me home in my mom’s car that she let me use. Got chewed out by my parents pretty bad and they made me sit out in the sun the next morning while having a brutal hangover.
I’ve experienced worse nights as a rockets fan since then.
Made me cry, no bullshit.
One of the coldest shots of the last 10 years in the NBA.
More Dame clips needed
Down 2 for the win at the buzzer is just next level
Man fuck yall
I hope they move.
/S
Still don’t know how Ja fits into the Blazers
I remember exactly where I was when this shot was made
Finals week at UF sitting on my couch eating mi apa
This beast came into the league and started doing this shit immediately
Two moments I will never forget, this and Tmac’s 13 points in 35 seconds
Reported. I’m in it and I don’t like it.
Chandler Passons
Thank you Harden for drawing up the defense
I’ve seen this so many times that I don’t even need sound, I know exactly how the commentary goes.
Prime Dame Time was a damn pleasure to live through. Dude was insane.
So this is the first round of 2014 playoffs and Blazers was gonna match up with the Spurs next.
As a Spurs fan, I remembered what I thought. “Ok stop thinking about OKC and Miami. This blazers tema is no joke. Alrdige is always a problem but this new kid is ice cold. Yeah we are not gonna give this kid any space. We will put Green and Kawhi on him and make his life hell. And then we will force him to defend and run through gauntlet of screens, and Parker will destroy him in pick and roll and show him what a playoff-tested, championship caliber PG is. We have to be serious, because this second-year kid is real.”
And we did. Dame is completely neutralized. Yeah we destroyed the Blazers on our way to a championship, but without this rocket series I am not sure we will be that serious about Dame, which is still very young. And we know how Dame can do wonders with just some defensive slack-off. I am so glad this series happen. Love Dame ever since.
I remember offing my live stream because I thought Blazers were cooked 😂
I hope we never forget how cold he was.
But did he cry
25 got cooked on that play
Post is incorrect. There were 0 seconds left.
