LeBron says he can average 10 points until he’s 65
LeBron will be collecting social security while being 6th man of the year
Falling asleep during half-time because he needs his naps.
Napping the 1st half so he can play the 4th quarter
(Breen voice) “From way downtown… Bang! The King has awaken!”
Breen in 20 more years? He’d be taking longer naps than LeBron😂😂. Might get 4 solid announcer minutes out of him
We wake up Breen when Bron wakes up, and he only commentates those minutes.
It’s perfect.

He is. His son goes to my son’s school and is a top shooting guard recruit in Florida. Going to Florida state next year.
NBA players can begin collecting their pension as early as age 45 under the Early Retirement scheme lol
this fuckery can go on for much longer
He just needs some Miami sun to rejuvenate him and we can start the whole cycle over again

Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven…only made it to two. A lot of unfinished business in Miami.
I watched every lebron game last year he is legit better physically than most on the court on either team most nights.
That playoff series vs Houston was crazy. Making a bunch of mid 20 year olds look like shit lol
Yet it’s so weird to watch comments saying if they were GM they would tell James to take the MLE because of age.
Bron Hase been coasting the early season for the past 4 years because by ASG, they are usually middle seed with no credible 3rd option and no bench so he goes MVP mode to get a see and try to win one round at the time.
Imagine being on the MLE and still having to take on the playoffs without Reeves and Luka.
Yeah there’s a double reading there. If he were to take the MLE, teams could afford a credible 3rd option and bench
Imagine our max players being unhealthy for prime time and relying on a 41 year old.
I’m just trying to have my toast in peace man let me live
Yup — watched 100% of lakers games last year. The fact that LeBron outplayed the running, two-time mvp in their series, is absolutely insane lol. People are sleeping on bron…
People get mad at you for saying this lmao.
But it’s true. In Lakers vs Thunder 41yo LeBron James was the best player on the floor for 75% of the series
Yup. The amount of experience on display was insane. Obviously, right now SGA is generally the better player because Bron’s athleticism isn’t fully there anymore, but it was clear that LeBron could out-think everyone on the court in both the Rockets and OKC series. I mean, LeBron has always had an amazing mind for the game, but he’s also quite literally the most experienced player of all time, so he’s seen everything and knows how to respond to most of it. And it’s really hard to trap him like they were doing to SGA because he’s both strong as shit and an amazing playmaker.
Yeah, the clearest sign of his age is simply that he’s not capable of being the best player 100% of the time anymore, but the fact that he’s still able to play at that level as much as he does is insane.
He was the best player 100% of the time vs Houston tho.
I wouldn’t even say that tbh. He was nearly invisible in those losses, especially in the second half.
Best player overall for sure, but you could still see the age in the times where he wasn’t able to maintain his usual form.
I’m still salty we didn’t get to see healthy Luka and AR together with Bron in the playoffs.
The march Lakers are now a historical what if? Now that LeBron and Luka are separated :(
People are not going to agree because they either hate LeBron or hate the Lakers. It’s why I hate that he’s leaving and that we’re paying Austin that much (I want AR to stay but he’s really not worth that much money), we just got a lot worse for when the games truly matter.
Same thing is happening with Messi rn in the WC26. He is a shadow of his former self but his former self was so huge that even the shadow is more than enough
I remember watching one dunk this season where I remembered what my knees felt like at 41 and was just so massively impressed.
This is so funny because no one thinks he is joking and it sounds about possible with the way he’s going
65-year-olds are built different than they used to be. On top of that, LeBron is one of the most gifted athletes ever. He looked like a grown man as a freshman in high school. He really could.
I don’t think his feet will hold up. You can’t fix that with PEDs. He’d probably get some other random age related stuff like blurry vision or arthritis or tendinitis
Thank God
I understand not wanting to stay out there if you are embarrassing yourself.
And I understand the grind of 24/7/365 maintenance can become too much.
But I don’t understand needing to walk away at your peak. Topping off his career as a 50 year-old 7th man playing 10 competent minutes a game on a contender would be a fucking awesome final chapter if you ask me.
The main issue here is that his wife really really really really really really really wants him to retire.
And Lebron does not strike me as a Tom “Fuck my family” Brady type.
Absolutely not. He is a capital F Family man

Baseball has always been more a sport where older players can thrive. Satchel Paige was pitching at 59. Minnie Minoso played until he was 56 and Hoyt Wilhelm fell about two weeks shy of 50. And 294 guys have played into their 40s! (That number is 36 in the NBA).
Fuck, I want to see him beat Satchel Paige’s record.
To be fair, him pitching at 59 was a marketing gimmick for one game, but the fact that he was able to strike guys out at 59 was insane.
He pitched for real at 47 years old and was an All-Star though so he was legitimately the greatest old man pitcher of all time. Won a World Series in his 40s too.
I will not STAND for this Jamie Moyer erasure
That’s a misleading stat. Baseball has been around longer and has larger rosters. Since 1975, it looks like NBA has had 34 and MLB has had 70 players play into their 40s. And NBA rosters carry 15 while MLB rosters carry 26 players (and expand to 40). The rates are much closer than you suggest.
That’s genuinely crazy how old guys can still pitch and hit better than the young dudes who aren’t in their place
Does she? Has she ever actually said that? I think she completely understands the world she married into and the competitive drive her husband has.

LeBron James Overheard Saying Wife Savannah Wants Him to ‘Retire in the Next Year or So’ as He Returns for 23rd Season
I wouldn’t interpret that as saying she really really really really really really really wants him to retire.
Both can be true.
How do you know?
Ehh i think theres something to be said about leaving the game while your still able to be a bonafide starter. Allot of guys hung on until they were washed and thats all the generation that starts watching in the twilight of their career will remember. Like my impression of a guy like kemp was of him just being kind of a fucked up lazy bum lol, although thats for slightly different reasons
Theres truth to that. You dont want an entire generation you to mainly remember you as the 10-15th best player in the league
Is 10th-15th best player so bad if you’re the oldest player in the league?
No but it is no comparison to the dominant freak of nature he was till about 2020
Yeah I just think being that good at such an age is a different kind of dominance that’s roughly as impressive as being the best player in the NBA at any given moment. Maybe that’s just me though. We’ve seen tons of guys who were as good as the current best in the league but idk if we’ve ever seen someone this good at this age. Ignoring age feels disingenuous unless you’re genuinely talking about how a 5 year old might perceive basketball. Like no shit he’s not as good as a 27 year old.
Who cares about managing perception.
LeBron 100% cares about managing perception.
he’s already past his peak. I don’t mean that as disrespect. It’s just Miami and Cleveland were his peak years. He was making the finals every damn year for a while and putting up all those 30pt triple doubles.
And as athletic as he is, sports always takes a toll. The older you get, the more risk for an injury that could stay with you the rest of your life, on top of the injuries you’ve already gotten. I imagine thats part of why some people retire even if they could keep going.
I get what this guy is saying, but yeah, definitely not his peak. He’s still an incredible athlete, but he’s not the greatest in the world anymore. At the peak of LeBron’s career, he was one of the single most athletic people on the entire planet. Now, he’s probably the most athletic 41-year-old, but he’s not up there anymore.
I know he’s good, but I’ve never seen him average 24/7/365!
Those are Wilt numbers!
There’s no way he’s playing that long. The body falls off a cliff by 50.
That # used to be 38 before Lebron
38? The fall-off-the-cliff number was like 32 before him lmfaoo, his aging has been so outrageous we’re calling it sub-40 now
The infamous “this fuckery won’t go on for much longer” tweet was posted when he was THIRTY
The difference between playing at 40 and 50 is absolutely massive, way different than 30 to 40
People in here really don’t know how aging works and I don’t know what else to say to them. Like LeBron can have the greatest longevity in the history of the sport and an injury will still probably derail him in his mid 40s (at the latest)
What’s sad is that if he keeps playing that injury is going to happen. Eventually one of his knees is going to give out, an achilles will snap, etc
Can’t wait to read and laugh about this thread a decade from now
Can’t wait to laugh about this on my son’s 20th birthday. He’s one year old right now.
That injury already happened in 2021. Sure, additional ones can and probably will happen but he’s already verifiably a reduced version of himself - and he’s still a top 15 player in the league who can play like a top 5 one for a few weeks at a time.
Twenty years ago, we’d never say a dude could still play at this level at this age and yet here we are. For the top guys, 40 is the new 34. And LeBron is the absolute pinnacle of that group of guys, so 45 could be the new 38.
The wheels will inevitably fall off but it just seems pointless for people to keep trying to predict when - we’re already a decade past the age where people thought he’d start to meaningfully decline.
People buying into the “built different” hype too much, Brady played till 45 but QB requires significantly less athleticism and agility.
He could play 5 more years imo. 2 more as a solid player and then 3 more as a backseat role player.
I hope he keeps going like Vince did. He should go until the wheels fall off.
I feel like he’s going down the matt stafford route. Play until his body makes the decision for him
Lebron is 3.5 years older than Stafford and has so much more wear and tear on his body that Stafford. He also has better teeth.
You sure about that? Stafford got absolutely pummeled in his Lions years especially. Not trying to minimize the physicality of LeBron’s game, but it’s a bit different when you have 300 lb guys hitting you as hard as they can while you throw the ball 40 times a game.
LeBron is the exception. The way he conditions and maintains his body, muscle mass, stamina, everything. There might be a slow regression, but not a complete drop like most NBA players at his age. He might as well play til he’s 50, he’ll hold records that will be almost impossible if not improbable to break. He already holds the most points in NBA history; why stop now, he should just keep stacking more points to that record. He wont ever have another chance in his lifetime to do it again.
Lebron is a mix of god given ability AND a genuinely ludicrous amount of self-control to stay in shape. People yap about mamba mentality and going 200% but the real secret to aging well is knowing when to pace and peak while staying true to your workouts, diets, general mental well-being and all that.
I used to get so frustrated watching young LeBron not drive to the hoop every possession. No one could stop him, so why not drive.
Well 20+ seasons later, I see he knew how to manage his body and career better than I did haha
I’m as big of a Jordan GOAT truther as they come, but I gotta say, if Bron plays until he’s 50+, I could be swayed. Because although I don’t value longevity very much compared to other things, there is a point where it becomes way too impressive to ignore.
Exactly said. Longevity isn’t on my top tier list, but it’s becoming ridiculous
I think he should do it. He should never stop playing. His haters worst nightmare.

LeBron’s career outliving Skip Bayless would be a hilarious timeline.
If he can just play long enough to put up 30 on the day Skip Bayless dies, he will be the greatest basketball player of all time. Maybe the greatest human ever…
LeBron retiring is Adam Silver’s worst nightmare. And also the NBA media. Most of them would be jobless without LeBron
Bron is 60, this fuckery won’t go on much longer
He wants to play with Bronny James the 3rd
I don’t know about that, but he’s the first player that could probably be a legitimate rotation player into his 50s.
Maybe. He’s played long enough that if we see it go it’s going to go quick, like end of career Manning who went from MVP candidate to worst starting QB in the NFL in like half a season.
Peyton was playing through like 16 serious injuries so not exactly like he just got super washed all of the sudden.
In a lot of ways, that’s what being washed is
Well I just think it’s worth mentioning that a full spinal fusion, 4 operations to completely replace his neck and shoulder, having to relearn how to throw a football, no feeling in his fingertips, a torn quad, plantar fasciitis, and bruised ribs probably had a lot more to do with his sudden drop off as I think even remotely healthy he still could’ve been really good.
Yeah but I think the point is those injuries and procedures are because he’s older.
The if healthy is the part that is reliant on age.
They weren’t though, they were the result of a serious neck injury he sustained in 2006.
Exactly, over time he sustained more and more injuries that eventually left him unable to continue to play at a consistent high level, a.k.a. washed. He first injured his neck in 2006, had spinal fusion in 2011, torn his quad in 2014, had plantar fasciitis in 2015, etc. All of which and more affected him by his last season, the result of years of wear and tear and the body’s diminishing ability to recover from injury with aging. The longer you play, the more likely you are to get injured, and the more injuries pile up and leave you with lasting effects.
Getting those 16 serious injuries in quick succession is part of the “go quick”; with age, conditioning just kind of falls apart for most. I bet it’s later than most for LBJ, but it’s not never.
I understand your point but It wasn’t in quick succession, he suffered his neck injury in 2006 and played through it for years until it got so bad that he basically had to have his entire neck replaced in 2011. A lot of those injuries directly stem from that, something that should’ve ended his career.
Maybe not the place to get on my soap box but I just seriously think it’s one of the most impressive sports feats ever that he not only returned from those injuries but literally broke every single season passing record in history less than two years later, it doesn’t get the respect it deserves. It’s like if Usain Bolt blew out both Achilles and broke his knees and ankles and then came back and set a new 100m sprint record a couple years later.
By all accounts Manning is maybe the smartest football mind ever (I’m not qualified to comment on that level), he got away with a massive decline in athleticism and still played great because of how good he was between the ears.
Eventually the physical decline was just so much he couldn’t overcome it anymore, and that was sudden.
I’m sure 2015 Manning could still see the game in that same special way, he just wasn’t able to get his body to do what he needed anymore.
I also find it super ironic that it happened to be the season he won a Super Bowl with Denver despite being his worst career season statistically and definitely talent wise. That boy was throwing floaters;
As a broncos fan it was truly saddening to watch how quickly he declined. Neck fusions don’t typically extend longevity in athletic performance. He was lucky to be able to play as many seasons as he did considering the severity of the surgery he had during his last season with Indy
That year Peyton Manning is funny enough by far the worst QB to ever win a super bowl.
He literally finished dead last among all qualifiers in ANY/A. That defense was insane.
Statistically awful. Didn’t pass the eye test either. But look at the jolt he gave the team when he hobbled out there in the 2’d half of that chargers game. He might not have won us those games but he sure didn’t lose them for us either. Kept the Ferrari in the lane long enough to ride it into a ring.
His running of the offense won games, his body didn’t.
The fall comes very fast when it does come. He’s been getting injured more regularly already.
He’d have to be on a strict maintenance regime that would be a pain in the ass for everyone involved including himself. What more does he have to prove in terms of longevity? He needs to win another Championship as a star otherwise he will raked after his retirement for team hopping.
Lmao no, he is not immune to aging
The fact such a ludicrous statement is upvoted here proves one of two things, absolutely:
There is no sane reason why this comment is upvoted. None at all.
The sane reason people are upvoting this comment is because a lot of people want to see it happen so they are wishful thinking.
For real, not even until 50 (which would never happen) but INTO his 50s?? Come on lol
You guys are absolutely insane. LeBron already only plays defense for about half his possessions, by the time he was 50 he would be a massive defensively liability. Father time unbeaten.
You can tell who doesn’t watch him in this sub. Whoever gets him is going to be disappointed.
He gives half effort during the regular season
Wilt could have been.
No one will ever be able to prove it, so why not
Nah, 65 is not realistic. I’d say 50. But even that’s pushing it. He’d be a traffic cone on defence so basically he’d only come on to score.
Big LeBron fan, this is facts.
TBF its a throwaway comment people are taking at face value.
While I’m inclined to agree with you, some of these guys who put the work in remain athletic freaks far longer than seems rational, even on the stamina side to a degree so perhaps he could push a bit past 50. Terrell Owens is 52 and that guy can still run and is in crazy shape even now.
There are a handful of guys who are just built different and may push the boundaries further than you’d expect. The one thing they can’t overcome is longer recovery times from tweak/injuries as they age, that’s just life, unless they engage in like crazy stem cell + HGH shit or something.
Yeah I dont think anyone is gonna doubt that
I can, 65 is too old, no chance. Even assuming he for some reason has the same motivation to work as hard as he does now if not harder, he wouldn’t be averaging 10 unless the team is like alright Lebron our goal this season is to make you do whatever you want, we don’t care if we lose by 40, if you want to take 20 shots a game and shoot at a terrible efficiency while obviously not adding much to the game on both ends, go ahead.
Otherwise no chance
I guess im old enough remember when he said he will win 8 championships in Miami
Wade knees and Bosh blood clots would’ve prevented that even if Bron was at 2013 level every year in miami and stayed through 2018
No he can’t. Cite this post when he does.

Not if he meant career average. The math actually works out perfect. If he never scored anymore points…
43,440 points/10 ppg = 4,344 games - 1,622 games already played = 2,722 games/82 games a season = 33.2 seasons
LeBron is 41+ years old + 33.2 seasons brings him to 65 with 10ppg
Edit: Nvm it’s brings him to 75 I’m dumb
Hell if LeBron is avg 10ppg at 60 I’m signing him off ball iq alone lol
If you believe this you’re delusional.
Yeah lmao it’s a funny joke but like the athletic drop off and injury likelihood is not a linear increase when you start getting to your 40s and 50s, it’s accelerating. 35-40 is going to be a much, much smaller drop off in skill than 45-50. And that’s already where most players stop being competitive.
This is the same shit that was said around the “this fuckery will not go on much longer” tweet except it was 35-40 instead of 45-50.
Absolutely guarantee theres a comment out there about this “30-35 isn’t so bad, but 35-40 will be hell on his ability to stay healthy and athletic.”
This is exactly right. Most players once they get over 40 even if they are Hall of Famer’s are just hanging on. He obviously is an exception and is still elite but by the time he gets to 45 the amount of work he’ll have to put in just to stay anywhere close to good and also healthy will be mind bending for an NBA schedule and even with all that work you’ll see the injuries start coming.
Playing QB for 17 games is one thing like TB did, playing NBA swingman for 60-80 games is entirely different
I think he was grasping for a number and just threw 65 out there because Tyrese said it moments before when talking about the 65-game rule
Shit I believe him too
This comment section is wild. Some of yall need to come up for air.

Can you imagine 65 year old LeBron still outscoring Bronny James on his best day?
LeGeriatric
He’s technically right because all he has to do is score 10 points and sit out until he can score 10 points again.
In the video, Haliburton says minimum 65 games.
Dudes so full of it. 🙄
The King of self promotion. Bronny and Bryce already picking out the care home that allows him to get the best treatment for his dementia.
Surprised he didn’t say 67
Spoken like someone who hasn’t hit 50 yet
Hopefully he don’t blow his Achilles in golden state
On 20% shooting and 15 turnovers
Average 10 career points per game?
He could probably sit on the bench for 20 years and hit it.
He would have to play 2700 games without a single point to bring his ppg down to 10. He’d be 74 lol.
this guys need for attention is unbareable
In response Bronny said he can average 2/.5⁄1 until his current contract runs out or he gets cut.
Of course he does.
What team would he be on by that year? The Mexico Tacos?
Games are only held on Tuesdays
LeTirement age
In NBA history only 16 times has a player averaged >10 PPG in their age 39 season or older. Here is a little trivia game if you want to try to guess them.
You’ll note nobody has ever done it past the age of 41 (though LeBron probably will next year).
LePension
I bet he needs crutches or a cane by 50.
The bill is coming.
I don’t think LeBron realizes how much his body is about to deteriorate in the next 10 years. He is right at the age where you just kinda stop healing.
Lebrons got a body that’s turns the clock like 10 years back tbh so I would say he could average 10 at 50 years max probably
hes the goat of ego that is for sure.
Delulu on full display.
Cheaper players will do the same.
Nahhhhh
I think he would be able to do it till 50 for sure.
Because of his BBIQ and size it’s a match made in heaven.
He could get 5 assist till 50+
But he’d be down to 12 minutes a game max if he keeps up his conditioning.
Either way Lebron retires in a year or two max.
soon he’ll be playing with lebrony jr.
tyrese will be able to fill a wonderful kenny smith type role post career. he’s great on the mic.
He’ll be lucky if he can make it to 50 in the NBA. Any non-minor injury to him would probably be career ending at this point.
He’s full of shit
Imagine it’s the year 2046 and LeBron James at 61 years old averages 10, 10, and 10 in the NBA finals 😂😂😂
First in the league to average a triple double with his grandson, even if the triple double is 10,10,10 😂
Complete with him telling night night stories to the other team at half time.
Sure, if he got to take a week off between each game.
Yeah I see it. LeBron in a coma is a better basketball player than me.
That’s one way to keep your health insurance until Medicare age.
Realistically 45ish imo. Can’t score 10 ppg over 65 games if no team is willing to pay and play you enough. The barrier is most likely his ability to defend at an NBA level.
Somebody should have shown some balls and laughed him off the stage.
That’s disrespectful as shit but he might not be wrong
