Tyrese Haliburton reveals he made a recruiting attempt to bring LeBron James to the Pacers before he let the Lakers know he would be leaving. LeBron texted back: “🤣🤣” Haliburton said that was the end of his recruiting efforts.
The worst she can say is No
Her: “🤢🌽🤣”
In all seriousness, no idea why this guy would consider teams like the Warriors, Heat and Cavs and not the Pacers if his main goal is trying to win a championship
He doesn’t want to live in Indiana
It’s really this simple lol
dudes almost a billionaire. He could live like a king anywhere on planet Earth. Not joining a championship contender because you dont want to live in Indy for 9 months just shows he isnt serious about wanting another ring
Doesn’t matter because I think people don’t realize how different cities like La, nyc, and Indiana are from one another.
I saw ESPN earlier on TV mention he may strongly consider Golden State because of the golf courses they have in the Bay Area. As if he won’t be able to live like a king and go wherever he wants to go, whenever he wants to go, once he’s retired.
That’s understandable, hence why I said “if his main goal is to win a championship.”
I mean same but we all must make sacrifices
Pacers you’d be putting a ton of faith into Haliburton getting right and them making a run this year. I would put them over the Warriors just because the Warriors are so unbelievably old, but I’d trust Lebron on the Cavs or Heat more to make a run.
The Heat simply don’t have players that fit together on a winning NBA team in 2026. They won’t be able to score. It would have been better if they traded Bam for Giannis. I’m really low on them, honestly.
With the Cavs, it just feels like this foundation is broken and LeBron would be a Band-Aid. Maybe he thinks he can get more out of those guys, but it’s hard to have any faith in them in the playoffs.
I think any team that has Lebron on it has a completely different foundation than it used to have.
Bam is the perfect 5 next to Giannis on defense.
Unfortunately not on offense, though.
Bams been working on his 3.
He was at 35% on 3 attempts in 2025.
Last year it was 32% on 5 attempts.
Im not saying it will definitely happen, but I trust Spo to figure it out.
Teams always try and convince themselves they can make it work with too many below average shooters who are at their best in the paint. It never works.
Boogie and AD looked terrifying before the injury.
The thing is, both Bam and Giannis can pass. Are they Jokic? No.
But usually the 2 big guy problem is because the offense stalls out.
I bet we could see a Bam-Giannis pick and roll with Bam as the screener.
Pacers run and gun offence made Josh Hart look out of shape
LeBron’s old knees would crater.
I’m still interested to see how Zubac handles that pace.
They’re just going to play differently. They’ve never been a strict run and gun team, and they can still use their core motion concepts in halfcourt sets that play to Zubac’s strengths. LeBron would fit perfectly.
In general, pace isn’t always a foundational element in the way analysts make it out to be. Good teams like to turn the dial when necessary and run their stuff either way. This year’s Knicks were a great example; they played both fast and slow using the same Princeton sets heavy on ball movement and off-ball cuts.
Finally. I can’t believe this came from a Knicks fan, but yes you’re correct. This pacers team was not a strict run and gun team. The primary identity is fluidity and ball movement. Often, that led to fast pace, but they are not the seven-seconds-or-less suns. They kind of were when they had Hield, but after that trade, no longer.
Yeah, anyone who thought the Pacers couldn’t beat you in the halfcourt or when the game slowed down must have not been watching them play.
I feel like pace gets thought of too much in terms of “fast” and “slow” and not in terms of control. Are you playing at the pace you want to? Are you running your sets? Is the other team responding to your pace or vice versa? Those questions tell a far more important story about team identity than stuff like per 48 stats.
Zubac moves a lot, just doesn’t shoot the 3. It’s not that big of an adjustment. Opens up a lot of concepts at the elbows that were bad with Myles & Zubac has enough gravity in the paint that it helps perimeter spacing.
yeah I think he’s a really good fit
I guess in theory you could have two different styles you run with to throw teams off. The Haliburton run and gun and then a slower ball movement style around Lebron. But yeah they’d have to completely change their playstyle to fit in Lebron even though you’re getting two of the best passers in the game together.
If he was serious about winning, he wouldn’t have spent 8 years in LA.
yeah he really shoulda dipped after the westbrook saga, regardless of who you wanna blame it was obvious after that, that the lakers FO didn’t know what they were doing, but right after we traded WB we made the WCF and lost to champion nuggets, so there was a glimmer of hope, and i think he really wanted to retire in LA and stay with AD, next year was a first round exit and then the big luka trade happened and he said “alright let’s see if this works” and once it didn’t he decided to dip
in hindsight he wasted some years there but his decisions made sense at the time
so like you’re just gonna act like living in indianapolis is as good as san fran or miami? cleveland is only even in the running bc he’s from there and his career is forever tied to the franchise. lebron ain’t gonna live in indy
Stop hating on my city 😂 Indianapolis isn’t that bad! It really is becoming ONE of the main sports hub in the country!
Because he has no ties to Indiana or a group of friends to play with there and he doesn’t want to live in Indiana
His main goal is not to win a championship. His main goal is to milk the spotlight and get a retirement tour. If he wins the title, great, but it’s not his priority. If it was, he’d have joined the Spurs.
Because his goal is to be the main character of the NBA, not to win another championship.
His main goal is to win a championship on a team that makes sense for someone who has as big of a brand as he does
A) Haliburton is not reliable from a health standpoint
B) if he’s going to end his career somewhere where he has no connections, and in a small city with not much going on, San Antonio is a better choice in every way
In all seriousness because he’d have to live in Indiana
Because he also wants to be happy, he has no ties to Indiana or anything, and you don’t know what version of Hali you getting either
Because his goal isn’t to win a championship. Rich Paul says his main goal is to have fun and be happy.
his main goal is trying to win a championship
Pacers window is closed, imo.
Why do you believe the pacers are contenders?????? Haliburton hasn’t touched the floor, and the rest of the team isn’t exactly built for a run. I’d say Bron on the wizards has a better chance right now than the pacers. Atleast they have a good squad on paper.
So there you go, that’s it. He’s not going to Indiana.
(Probably)
Bron just treated Hali like Guillermo
“Nah I’m good”
They got LeBlanc up there too?
He mentioned the bum who said the Heat would be a play-in team again… Miami incoming 🔥🔥🔥
Indiana is a racist state. Why would LeBron want to play there?
The fact that a Lakers fan would like ANY Boston team tells me you never land in flyover states.
