I noticed a lot of people chose and picked Hugo, so I decided to go with Walsh. I think Hugo will inevitably be given the earlier Jaylen Brown role in 2017-2018 where he’s tasked to be man to man and hustling/off-ball movement and backdoor cutting while potentially getting All-Defense/DPOY votes. But I think Hugo will need another year to finely tune his offense.

I do believe in Walsh’s passing, especially in the fast break, and I think we’ll start to use him as our primary POA defender on speedier guards that White cannot catch up to like Tyrese Maxey for example; his size and length + some added strength/muscle will allow him to be able to take more contact.

My stat prediction from him is:

9.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 2.1 APG on 48/37/75

I know this isn’t ‘breakout,’ or huge numbers but I do think he’ll make up for it with his defense.

That being said, we should expect continuous growth from everybody.

Baylor is the only one entering his prime years and he’s by far the best offensive player listed here I’m going with him.

Hugo and Scheierman

Walsh + Hauser will be traded for some kind of player upgrade either at deadline or off-season

Amari Williams. If Joe will give him minutes I have faith in him showing more and more potential. Might be raw to begin with but I see a solid ceiling for him

I expect all 4 to make upward moves this season, so I wasn’t able to pull the lever for a single one.

None of these guys will have a breakout year. But they have a good chance at improving. Baylor could become more than just a floor spacer on offense, Hugo should stay in the rotation every night, same with Walsh. And Harper Jr has a good shot at cracking the rotation more consistently, it feels like he settled into his role at the end of last season.

Just be playable in the playoffs. That’s all I want from these guys.

Re Hugo I dunno a lot of good rookies take a step back in their second year as they figuring out things and then have a killer 3rd year. I remember Tatum fell in love with jumpers in his second year.

Baylor. Best well-rounded player out of the bunch. Great strength, so he can switch easily from 2 to 4. Good 3 point shot, disciplined, good rebounder, and playmaking. Plus mazulla clearly likes his game, so he’ll get lots of minutes.

In all seriousness, I think it could be Garza. Last year was already a breakout year of sorts for him. If he does it again and he plays a healthy 1500+ minutes, it won’t be a joke any more.

We are all about the possessions and we are all about the three ball. Well, lost in all of the recent conversation is the fact that Garza is one of the best offensive rebounders in the NBA in his own right, and he’s a very good scorer with a very low turnover rate.

Garza is going to be 27 and hitting his peak next season.

I think Hugo’s ceiling is 2018 JB

11-16 ppg while being a solid defender, but struggling with everything else

I’d love for Walsh to take the jump, he’s by far my favorite of these guys because his athleticism and on-ball is just so electric, and he moves the most fluid. With that said, I don’t get the idea that he has a much higher ceiling. All the other guys seem to have great futures ahead of them, but I’m not sure why I get that feeling. It may just be his age.

By “breakout” do we mean averaging more than like 4 points a game?
