Really looking forward to the development of our young guys, and the different rotations Joe uses. I feel like we have a team with players that have a very diverse/unique skill sets that could lead to some unique lineups.

I’m a big Jordan Walsh stan. Think he has potential to be an ideal modern 3&D wing, just needs to continue to develop his bball IQ.

Hugo as a slashing type guard, complimentary ball handler and hard nosed defender.

Baylor as a guy who can help run the offense/get his own shot off the bench.

Cenac developing into an ideal modern day 4.

Amari as a true nba sized center but with the ability to bring the ball up the floor and passing chops.

PP as a starter for a full season.

Tatum MVP season.

If anything I think it necessitates a change in style and that’s definitely something I’m excited about

JB made leaps as a passer but Tatum is just so much quicker at getting off the ball and seeing cutters. It’s gonna be really fun watching him completely take over this offense as an initiator without having to throw JB his bone every few possessions.

I think a lot of people are underrating the impact Robinson will have too despite it being 20~ minutes a night—he completely changes games with his rebounding and rim pressure and that’s an aspect we were missing for the entirety of last season. Queta was great but Mitch brings a different archetype and with the way we crashed boards last year he’s gonna be a fucking wrecking ball down there.

We’re all expecting Hugo to make a leap, Walsh is building upon his first season as a real NBA contributor, and despite Baylor and Harper Jr being kind of old to be considered prospects, they both look like legit NBA rotation players. Harper in particular had moments last year that had me questioning why it took so long for him to get a chance.

Throw in a bounce back season for White and I’m in. This team is gonna win a shitload of regular season games.

JB was my favorite Celtic. His personality and intention off the court was something many others can look up to.

That being said, I’m still ambitious for our squad.

With Robinson & Queta down low, our defense will be strong from the 3 line to the hoop.

Luka can come in and help spread with either of them!

PP can take up a few more minutes- maybe he’ll be a double double a night kind of guy.

Walsh and Hugo are both showing promise of getting some of those extra minutes - maybe about 20 for them to start. But we’re all curious to see how they play this year!

I’ll miss JB, but I believe it’s truly at the cost of having possibly the best spread out team…

Should have better ball movement and fewer turnovers this year based on our personnel. Think we’re gonna see a lot of Celtics basketball montages where the ball moves really well on some possessions. Should be some beautiful basketball.

Hugo, Baylor, Cenac, Harper, Walsh and hell even Neemy are all far from finished products. They can all still get better.

With enough internal improvement from them we may not be too far off from banner 19.

JT MVP season incoming

Last year’s team was very fun in the RS, but the thing that I kinda overlooked was that they beat up on a ton of tanking teams. They had some legit good wins, they beat OKC and NY for example, but they mostly sucked against the best teams.

I think this year’s team actually has better odds to go a little deeper in the playoffs than last year. The key will be managing PG and Mitch’s health, and needing a big jump from PP, but he played great in the games Jaylen didn’t play last year.

My guess is that they’re going to win less than 56 games, especially in a tougher East, but I definitely think they’ll still be good and probably at least win a round or even two. I don’t think they’re title contenders though.

The championship roster was dismantled within 11 months after this ownership buying the team. If anything we should root for an absolutely terrible season so this ownership realizes they can’t get away with this kind of ridiculous austerity.

Just gutted the entire team. Can’t blame it on the CBA or the apron not this year we were underneath the apron we were underneath the relevant thresholds.

I am thrilled to watch this team this season. It is still stunning what they did last season without JT out there. As much as JB carried and was his MVP-level effort was the topic of discussion, pretty much the entirety of our roster (except White, sorry buffalo) overperformed. But what I loved about the 2026 Celtics were the moments of exceptional team basketball. As much as I love JB, those moments were not usually his doing.

This season, we are leaning into that strength with young players who all have the chance to really improve again and be special, with Tatum back and three new guys who have clearly defined roles. PG will focus on defense, and be a true catch-and-shoot nightmare for opponents, a perfect pairing with Tatum. Mitch takes our rebounding to another level and adds rim protection we really lacked sometimes last season - having him to balance minutes with Queta gives us a really legit Center rotation. And Conley coming in to bring some organization and leadership to our bench lineups in ~10-12 minutes a night will help our young guys improve and ensure we stay competitive with Tatum on the bench.

A starting lineup of Pritchard-White-PG-Tatum-Robinson is pretty damn good. Just think of the way we would play on both ends with this group. Offensively, in sets where Pritchard is ballhandling, we have three exceptional three point shooters to space the floor and Robinson to clean the glass. When Tatum is ballhandling, the first point stands but he can also get easy lob assists to Robinson - I’m sure we’ll see that on a nightly basis. And defensively, you have four stud defensive players with Pritchard who can hold his own too. A very strong two-way lineup (when healthy), and that doesn’t even get in to the legit players on our bench who give Joe many options and who can dominate bench minutes.

I am definitely excited to see this version of the Celtics! It is sad to see the Jay’s era end. But this is truly the first time that we have seen a roster built specifically around Tatum, and I can’t wait to see how he plays.

Honestly, maybe we’ll get to watch a Celtics team with real energy again. That alone makes me excited for the season.

PP will most likely have his best season and will average all star type numbers.

A leap to 22ppg and 6apg is within the realm of possibility

All the options and flexibility

Lets not kid ourselves. The reason to watch is to see if Brad Stevens was right or wrong. If the Celtics end at the 3rd seed this year, he looses because JB took us to the 2nd seed as our first option.

I guess we have some new prospects too so the trash time should be fun.

I hate watching to see players develop. I legit despise it and it usually doesn’t develop into real contenders, so I’m not watching for that.

I’m watching, to see if we are a contender, or if we are at the point of trade-deadline pursuits to reach that status.

“Tatum is back” He played 20 regular season games and didn’t make it through a full 7 game series in the 1st round of the playoffs. I fear he may never be back.
