Hugo has such a incredible BBIQ. It’s easy to see that he’s been playing/practicing professionally for a long time. There’s so many little things that he does so well already. He’s very timely with his positioning and cutting and passing.

What’s more impressive is how he was able to translate those skills with a bunch of guys he’s never played much ball with. It’s easy to have chemistry with guys like Amari that he’s been around and practiced with for a year but to be able to adjust to a bunch of guys that you have barely shared the court with is impressive.

He was averaging a lot of assists and not many turnovers and that’s not easy to do with a bunch of new players who have different tendencies. Spraying the ball all over the place and making the right reads to make everyone around you better is not an easy task.

If he concentrates on improving his shooting numbers and gets away from over relying on the euro step when driving to the basket and develops a good midrange game he will be a force to be reckoned with. It’s kind of crazy because the things that he is really good at are hard to teach and the things that he needs to improve are much easier to develop.

His trajectory is going to be exciting to watch.
