Compression is usually the biggest culprit of this. Ironically the higher quality video you record the shittier it looks on most social media.
Reddit is really bad about this. I’ve uploaded videos I’ve recorded with my iPhone Pro Max and it looks like I recorded it on a flip phone.
If it matters to you in the future make sure the quality is 1080p and run it through a free program called handbrake, exporting at 12mbps bitrate. Reddit will downscale 4k to 1080p and will lower the bitrate to about 12 anyways - its better avoid compression by doing it yourself.
I just started using handbrake this year. Phenomenal tool. Highly recommend.
