Love to hear that from him. He was easily our best point of attack defender last season. If he can develop a decent offensive game that’d be huge for us

Dude only just turned 22. There were guys this draft older than that. Really excited to see what he looks like at 26-30.

That’s great to see, and exactly what he needs to do. He showed it in spurts last year, so I hope he just needs to focus on it to live up to the potential. The guy is all of 22, so plenty of time to grow.

we’ll see. thats gonna be quite a jump. Hugo and baylor were already much more polished offensive players. It was very clear from the eye test. I have a hard time finding a path that he would get at that level unless he fundametally changed the way he sees the game.

I have faith that maybe walsh improved his 3 point shot and maybe driving in traffic but theres just this missing feel for the game that requires heavy minutes to achieve. Some guys have that skill with limited minutes.

Walsh, Baylor, Hugo, Harper, and Mitchell all could complement Tatum well for the rest of his career if they continue their development. Then Cenac and Amari double headed dragon at center down the line. PP grows into his floor general role. The potential is really there

If him and hugo can get some offense going il be happy with the team

Jordan just needs to be a reliable 3&D player to be a fixture in our rotation. He’s got the tools to be great in that role.

I’ve always appreciated Walsh because he seems like one of those players that clearly wants to score. Understanding your role is really important obviously but to develop into the upper echelon on offense you have to have an arrogance to you that I think he possesses. When pritchard was averaging 3ppg his mindset was still to score and that was heavily important to him exploding the next year.

He just needs to work on getting a tighter handle and he’ll be getting to the rim at will, he adds in a pull up jumper with his defense you’re talking a fringe all star level player. It’s the same thing with hugo, physically there’s nothing stopping both of them from being prime jimmy butler level players.

They just need to put the work in + get consistent playing time. I understand why he didn’t, but if walsh got hugo’s minutes his rookie season who knows where he’d be at now.

The competition at the wing spots is super high on this Celtics roster. Hugo, Walsh, Hauser, Scheierman, and Mitchell all fighting it out for the backup minutes and Walsh knows that if he doesn’t step up he’s close to being out of the league.

I hope they all are. Let’s have a bunch of young guys playing their best basketball. One thing you can say about Jaylen and Jason, they come back with something added to their game every year.

This is the right mindset to have, all Celtics fans should be rooting for Walsh to keep getting better!

If Jordan is smart enough to develop a true bag on offense it will completely change this team.

He had that stretch of week last year where he was a monster. He made like 20 something shots in a row without missing one. We were calling him Jordan Michael Jordan Walsh here lol.

I hope he works with a shooting coach maybe someone who trained Kawhi in San Antonio

Between Tatum coming back from the achilles and George’s age/history, even best case for those two, there should be 20-30 starts available for a big wing.

I was about to say that he probably doesn’t have a huge leap in him at this point, but then I Googled his age and he’s just 22. Actually not unreasonable to hope for an offensive upgrade to his game, in which case he could become a valuable bench asset to roll with in the playoffs. Neat.

He’s a wrecking ball on his way downhill.

It does make me wonder how they’re going to have him coexist with Baylor and Hugo, who are also going to grow their games and play more. Then you also have Hauser and Harper Jr. Last year‘s team worked well, in part, because players knew their roles and filled them. I think it was easier last year because these players were still in the “happy to be here“ phase. How will coaches manage them now that they’ve had a little success and want to show out so they earn more PT and a bigger contract in the future.

Always believed in Walsh, he had the NBA frame as a rookie and great athleticism. Putting on weight was his first task and now he looks great. Defense and effort have been his strengths but almost nothing on the offensive end. If he can continue to improve all elements of his offense then the casuals will finally see what I see in him.

Walsh is such a dog I love his work ethic. You gotta appreciate a hard worker.

“I’m trying to stay in the league” basically. He’s still a bit on thin ice, but last year was a big step. Final year of his rookie contract. No guarantee he’s still in the NBA if he doesn’t produce next year.

Playoff numbers: 1.7 points on 21%/16%/33% in 7 playoff games in only 12.7mpg.

Needs to build on that or he could find himself without an NBA home.
