For this post, I examined every NBA game from the 2016-17 season through the 2025-26 season, including both the regular season and playoffs. For every franchise, I calculated its cumulative record, winning percentage, average point differential and worst loss against each opponent.

The first table shows the ten most lopsided decade-long matchups. After that, each team gets its five worst opponents, its five daddies.

For sure but also now you have more continuity. When OP does this again in a couple years (I hope) Knicks will be the head of several households. Just a slow start. Celtics have just have had many overachieving years in the regular season alongside deep playoffs.

Bill Russell was 102-32 vs the Knicks, which is the most total wins vs a team.

Magic Johnson has the highest win percentage vs a team with at least 50 games played, he was 50-4 vs the Kings 😬

Edit - I have to add more context to that ridiculous Magic record.

Of that 50-4 record by Magic vs the Kings, two losses were in his rookie year.
At one point the Lakers beat the Kings 24 times in a row between 1983 and 1988.
The only worse losing streaks between two teams are the Suns over the Wolves at 25 (1989-1995) and the Sonics over the Wolves (1991-1997). The Timberwolves were founded in 1989-90. Magic beat the Kings like Finals contenders beat a freshly formed expansion team.
