They dodged the Thunder who would have cooked them because the thunder matched up poorly into the spurs, then they probably still should have lost to the spurs but the spurs collapsed and blew double digit leads every game. Coming into the finals the narrative was that the WCF was the “real finals” because there was an assumption both teams would trounce the Knicks. Let’s be so for real rn. You do not lose a series 4-1 and “should have won it”. The spurs won Q1 of every game but lost the other 75% of the game 4 out of 5 times. I’m not convinced the Pacers are as good as everyone thinks they will be. Hali returning to full strength is not guaranteed at all and their run to the finals already was extremely unlikely. It depends how they use Zubac. Having Turner trailing to hit a 3 was potent, but if Zubac can be a good outlet passer, he can really open things up. Turner couldn’t get enough rebounds to really open this up and he had a horrible second bounce.

The Sixers even without LeBron have a great starting 5 and a pretty underwhelming bench outside of Simons. Maxey and Edgecombe are both already star material, Brown is a big upgrade for the roster, and Embiid is Embiid. Assuming health across the board, they should, on paper, be a major contender. But like you said, it’s all about health. Brown is durable, Maxey and Edgecombe are young and can handle it, but Embiid is tied with AD for the most “hey this guy is really good but he’s never on the court” player in the league.

The thunder were missing their second best player and took the spurs to 7 I think they are still the better team, spurs can hang but idk if they hang with a healthy okc team, also I think if the sixers get their chemistry right they could come out the east this year
