If LeBron plays his last season next year, he will have played almost exactly half of his career without a headband. Will he be remembered with or without a headband in the future?
LeBron James officially stopped wearing his signature headband late into the 2014⁄2015 season. He decided to permanently abandon it out of a desire to look and feel more unified with his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates.
Up until that point, he was known to wear a headband in every game, except in Game 6 of the 2013 Finals, where he played 14 minutes without it down the stretch to force Game 7.
Since LeBron won 2 titles and made 5 Finals with a headband (2003 - 2015) and 2 title with 5 Finals without one (2015 - Present), when he is to be memorialized one day (with a statue for example), would he wear a headband?
It almost parallels Kobe Bryant playing 10 seasons wearing #8, and 10 seasons wearing #24, with both era’s being neck and neck in their achievements.
