Here’s where I disagree. This is the type of case where you absolutely NEED a timely outcome. The Clippers have already selected their next pick. A pick that they most likely don’t deserve. Kawhi is also 35 with one year left on his contract. What if he plays one more season and then retires? There will be no contract to void or player to suspend. What if Balmer sells the team in a few months? How would you suspend him? The timing of the punishment in these matters is incredibly important as they won’t matter if you take too long.

Look at all the Trump investigations that led to indictments but NO trials. Had they been done quicker, that man would be in prison right now. Instead, they took their time to do it right and threw everything out when he won re-election. Sometimes you do have to rush things.

The Warren Commission is widely known to have been a complete failure. This investigation isn’t trying to determine if Aspiration paid Kawhi. It is investigating if the Clippers used Aspiration to pay Kawhi to circumvent the salary cap.

If I remember correctly, Pablo only got an anonymous non-executive to say he heard it was done circumvent the cap. You’re going to need more than that and the contracts to definitively say it is cap circumventing. You could make a strong argument saying Aspiration sought out Leonard as a way to deepen its relationship with Ballmer independently, which I’d imagine is what they’re doing.

If Oswald was on trial and they had to prove he was the murderer beyond a reasonable doubt they would have cause he did it and the evidence is extremely overwhelming.
