i think even if you had to pick the 5 different eras of Paul George to fill out the team instead of 5 copies of peak PG, the PG team still wins

No lol. Five prime Paul George’s is ridiculous. Everyone on team trade is getting locked up and most the dudes on team trade can barely get in PG’s way on defense. It isn’t even close.

Team PG would be great offensively until it’s time to box out on Sabonis or guard a big. Not loads of spacing going on for team Trade but they’d get it done

In theory, biggest advantage should be PG’s versatility and defense., plus that there are top tier scoring threats everywhere.

But honestly, I think the rebounding mismatch is just too big, not to mention the overall paint defense. You can’t just wish away that kind of size mismatch. And at the end of the day, there’s no point guard, SGA is a better scorer than him, and there’s only one ball anyway (which it’s difficult to imagine them being particularly great at sharing).

Those 5 perfect hairlines in such close proximity would constitute an extinction-level event, Jaylen Brown notwithstanding.

There are not enough playoff games to satisfy 5 Playoff P’s

This is why players like this have their image decrease the longer they play. Some of you whippersnappers forget how good players like Tmac, PG13, Houston Harden, Melo, etc. all were.

Prime Pacers PG would demolish that team.

Sabonis is going to grab 30 rebounds, but honestly Id take the Paul George team. They can switch EVERYTHING on defense so the other team really just resorting to either SGA iso or a Sabonis post up.

If Dipo/Brown/Gallo tries a iso play that is the less efficient option than the other two so it’s a win for the Paul George team

The PGs clear here, he’s got amazing size and athleticism and plays a fluid style of basketball. Shai and Sabonis will cause some problems but those Pauls are gonna be freaks in transition.

Prime PG was pretty damn good, but I guess the tradees have some level of positionally versatility.

Sabonis going to get cooked though.

If I can get Jalen Williams I’d narrowly take the SGA-Oladipo-Williams-Brown-Sabonis 5 in a series, because I do think Sabonis would be a real problem for even the strongest Paul George, and that’s such a nicely balanced backcourt if you are getting Oladipo in his one great season. SGA better in clutch.

PG is the 2nd-6th best player, but Williams and Oladipo were 2-way 3rd team NBA guys, Brown is overrated but a solid wing and Sabonis would have 20+ rebounds.

Sabonis would be in trouble defensively if his coach couldn’t figure out how to keep him from getting iso cooked by PG3.

But ultimately, you can live with PG3 3s more than Sabonis 2nd chance points after SGA mid-range and 3s from Oladipo and the Ja(y)lens, so the math tilts that way.

I would say the basketball team with positions and structure instead of the IRobot Paul George factory

Paul George was never a great creator nor an efficient 1 on 1 guy. his self creation was alright, but never what you expected of a star.

Ball movement and scoring will be an issue despite the shooting on the team.

defensively, they will get out rebounded also.

SGA and Oladipo and Brown will lock him down off the dribble, preventing easy scoring.

Team George is also going scoreless in the last 5 minutes of every game.

He didn’t last long, but the few years of healthy Oladipo were great to watch in the clutch compared to Paul George.

IDK but that would be a crazy 7 game series that I wouldn’t be able to peel my eyes from

You can argue OKC essentially swaped Ibaka, who was traded for Oladipo and Sabonis, for Paul George.

If you include Ibaka, then you could get a nasty lineup.

SGA, Oladipo, Jaylen Brown, Ibaka, Sabonis.

Tre Mann, Jalen Williams, Thomas Sorber, Gallinari, Aday Mara.

This lineup is more well balanced and 100% a championship caliber team

If we’re talking prime of all of them, I think the traded assets team wins because of the different things they can do on offense. Sabonis would have a field day.

Someone should ask a thread about who the best trade asset team of all time, or do a tournament style best all time.

Team trade. Positions exists for a reason, even if pg can theoretically play the 1 and 5 doesn’t mean he would be as good as SGA or sabonis at it. On the other hand if all the PGs have the same minds and communicate telepathically they would win by a landslide

Are we assuming all players are in their prime? Sga wasn’t in his prime when he was traded for George. If we are getting that version of SGA that makes this completely different. Either way i think the Paul George lineup loses though
