You can’t physically watch that many basketball games without speeding up the recordings and blasting through them 8-10 hours a day. I think even watching just 1 team is enough to have an opinion for most since you see your team play the other teams - especially in your conference.

Most of the pundits don’t watch all the teams either. As a fan of one they don’t, it becomes obvious when they don’t know the starting line-ups etc. Makes me wonder why I listen when they talk about other teams because there is no reason to think they aren’t just as ignorant about them.

I think the people who make comments insisting on how many people don’t watch games and proceed to brush off every opinion they don’t like as someone who “doesn’t watch” are becoming a bigger problem than the people who actually don’t watch but are loud about their unfounded opinions.

The thing with Giannis and Jokic is they’re both physically exceptional and were underrated or at least unexpected because they were unknown to the NBA basketball pipeline. I think it’ll have to be a tall, probably physically underdeveloped or not visually impressive European who hasn’t played basketball in America at all. And probably hasn’t played basketball for too long so they’ll be super raw. It’s an unplayable floor/mvp ceiling type.

Even Embiid who’s almost this did a year in the USA which made him enough of a known to shoot his draft spot up. Obviously if you could predict that with certainty you’d make Presti look like a scrub.
