I see second round picks more so as “currency” they’re extremely good to use to strengthen your roster. There’s always good role players on bad teams, and trading away a few seconds has helped numerous teams get glue guys or contend for longer.

He got the league min the last two years and he definitely played like a league min player last year.

If this was a one or even two year deal for 16M it would be an overpay but it wouldn’t raise eyebrows. Guys get deals like that all the time when teams have money to spend because the contract is useful matching salary for trades.

But this is for FOUR YEARS fully guaranteed. He is not a walking trade exception this deal is immediately a massively negative-vale contract. It defies all logic.
