It’s rough because this is prime position for a team to take back cap space and aquire picks. No one has a good cap sheet to sign free agents anymore. So for a Bucks perspective, this is rough for a rebuild that they can’t use that asset of cap flexibility to acquire more assets (this is how the Pistons were able to draft Duren by taking Kembas contract).

That just reduces optionality for a rebuild .for other fans, it’s rough because they can’t find a partner to offload money on to sign free agents

I think the waive and stretch was perfectly fine, yes. Dame was going to sit and burn 50 million on the bench while we wasted another year of Giannis. Waiving him and signing Turner was fine for a last ditch effort to try to compete with Giannis last year. Obviously we still weren’t able to compete, but we now have Turner as a moveable asset that we never would have had if we just let Dame sit and collect money for two years. And the 20 million we’re paying Dame does not matter at all, because again, we aren’t competing lol. So yeah, I think that was a perfectly reasonable thing to do and is even better now that Giannis isn’t on the team. This GTJ contract sucks, but it’s obviously a relationships based thing that makes us look better to agents and players. It’s irrelevant to the on court product…we aren’t competing

That makes no sense. Brown on the bucks + the roster they had last year isn’t winning shit, and the price you pay for it is not getting a look at Ware/Jakucionis/Ament and tradable pieces in Herro and Jacquez.

Brown is going to be 33 in 2030. His value is not going up between now and then and the league obviously doesn’t value him insanely already. If you’re really banking on Brown both playing well enough to hold value AND getting a bargain deal on a contract extension, that’s insane.
