Thats a lot of money. He should take the minimum on his next contract to make the team even better. Everyone in the league should take a minimum salary so the team can be as competitive as possible. Hopefully it becomes tradition that nba players only take 1 big contract and play out their careers on minimums to build the absolute best team possible so that when the teams are flush with profits they can use that money to buy politicians who will enslave the rest of us. The only people who deserve that much money anyway are the people who already have billions. Surely these savings will be used to fund their arena.

Is it just me that doesn’t like this trend? Players should take what the teams will pay them.

This is just leading to a situation were the strongest teams are just the ones we’re the players a willing to be underpaid the most.

That’s not what it should be about, this goes against player empowerment and gives more power to the organisations.

This kind of thing just unbalances the league, it used to be that if you wanted a super stacked team they’d have to go into luxury tax which puts pressure on the organisations to make it work, now they’ll just try to push their players to take less money.

And before anyone says it’s still 252 mil, that’s not the point, the NBA is a multi billion dollar business and they’d still be drawing those numbers, just that the player see less of it

The pressure is on the Spurs now. Wemby did his part now they have to build a contender.
