[Highlight] William Kyle III fires off a kamehameha
How do dudes make it this far shooting like this?!?
Just gotta be really tall with elite athleticism
Some of the most broken jumpers from hoopers I’ve ever seen were from D1 players in Miami during university gym runs. They’re just tall, can jump and lift weights, pretty much it.
6’6” Male @ 20yrs old is taller than 99.96% of males.
The average vertical of a D1 basketball player is 28.1” compared to 21” for the average 20yr old male.
Someone smarter than me can figure out how rare that combination is but calling it “just” seems to be a reach considering that statistically speaking their combined physical attributes are atypical.
It’s way less rare than the guy who’s 6’6”, has a 28.1” vertical, and also has a beautiful shot.
coming out of high school off a torn Achilles I was 6’6” with no vertical and D1 schools were still calling me.
And all of them have too much of an ego to shoot it granny style. Hot take, but if you’re an athlete, can’t shoot a free throw but refuse to shoot it granny style, then you should never pretend that you have a winning mentality. If you want to win, then you’d do it like grandma.
Ben Simmons would also like to know
Simmons didn’t have god awful form. It wasn’t Ray Allen, but it wasn’t Michael Kidd-Gilchrist either. He just didn’t shoot it.
And did it with his non-dominant hand apparently.
Wait what? His shot was full on broken. The ball spun sideways on its axis. He didn’t shoot on the way up but rather a blink after the peak of his jump. His elbow flared out like the chicken dance and I don’t even know what he was doing with his guide hand. 100% busted.
Josh Childress comes to mind
You dont get this far without coaches guiding you. How tf did not one try to fix this? When I was like 10 they had me practicing normal form 😂
How tf did not one try to fix this?
they probably did try. some hoopers just don’t want to admit it’s an issue and/or are not willing to fix it. especially when you’re bigger and stronger that everyone around so you think its never gonna cost you until its too late
Well now it’s a market and the customer is always right
Athletic 6 ft+ people are hard to find
It really makes no sense. If you’re an 80% shooter then whatever, shoot it however you want. But how has no one forced these lousy shooters to at least go with decent fundamentals?
Development is dead.
He’s really tall and can jump incredibly high
because basketball as a sport takes height discrimination to an absurd level :D cant teach 6’9 with 40 inch vertical
I can’t believe he missed
Perfect form
This isn’t even his final form smh
did you say, perfect?
granny shot candidate
I have never seen someone put English on a jump shot.
Man shot a Juninho knuckelball
Elite ball knowledge there
He’s the most famous free kick taker of all time. Surface-level knowledge there.
I don’t blame people that didn’t watch him play then for only discovering him now
He held the follow through on that shit like it was about to be cash lol
Never seen someone follow through on a shot and end up pointing at the ceiling
Waving to the ball as it makes it journey onward
Brother……what follow through? Man gave the ball a military salute.
The one handed Joakim Noah
I never thought I’d be defending Joakim Noah but at least some of his fingers bent on his release. I’m genuinely perplexed that this ball even made it to the rim.
He just sent it vaguely in that direction.
Noah also had a decent percentage too, at least in his time on the Bulls. It looked stupid but sorta kinda worked, which is a step above whatever’s going on here
Joakim Noah/Shawn Marion hybrid
Put some respect on Marion’s name. He actually made his shots.
He is pretty decent too.
how does this happen
I used to shoot like this as like, an 8 year old. It was the only way to get the ball to the hoop from further away. Guess he never stopped doing it
My guy shot the “how-do-you-DUUUKENNN”
What is this abomination?
I remember Fox during his rookie or sophomore year shouting Kame-Hame-Ha while shooting a corner three.
the kamehameha celebration is wild. summer league really is the best for stuff like this
Absolutely not. Super was huge.
Hopefully somebody helps that young man because Lord have mercy…
Can we call Rick Barry and teach him how to underhand freethrow?
He really needs to go underhand if this is where he’s at after who knows how many years of practice trying to shoot regularly. Announcers in another clip said he shoots 49% from the line… Cmon man, swallow your ego and go granny style. Almost guaranteed his percentage will improve
It would be a HUGE improvement!
What the hell is that guide hand doing??
Applauding
I get being so much more athletic than your peers in high school that you can get away with this, but if your goal is to be an NBA player you’d think seeking out a shooting coach would be a huge priority.
Thank god it hit the rim! Otherwise it would have killed the people in the stands like the Budokai Tenkaichi incident when Vegeta shot the Ki blast into the crowd!
That’s a hadoken
South Dakota State, UCLA, and Syracuse should all be embarrassed for letting him pass through without learning something that at least resembles proper free-throw form.
Clearly a Rasengan.
The late stage nerve damage is evident
I thought this was gonna be a Kamehameha celebration or something, that form is awful
You gotta put a trigger warning/nsfw on this. Jeebus
bro charged up for a full episode before that move 😂 that’s clean though
Absolutely disgusting
It’s over 9000!!!!
Richaun Holmes push shot but from the charity stripe? Bold.
his guide hand is air traffic control for the ball lmao
Ball lies
michael kidd Gilchrist redemption tour starting now
Kinda surprised it even hit the rim 😂😂
Glad to see the NBA world gets a look at probably the worst free throw shooting form I’ve ever seen
Aiie.. that’s great shooting form gurl.
my god….
he’s the one…
I will never understand the reason behind pro ballers being unable to have a proper form. Do they even practice shots?
Big guys spend more time in gym than on shooting drills because they are taught that its more effective for them to attack the rim than shoot the ball (which is true for most part). When you bulk up it really may mess up your shooting technique and habits and most of the guys with form like that just don’t bother adjusting because they are so big and athletic compared to others in highschool/college that it doesn’t stop them from scoring.
Joakim Noah would be proud
oh you weren’t kidding, wow.
/u/savevideo
CLANG!!!!!
This dude made the nba???? Must be close to 9 ft tall
Man got the Grinch’s form.
With corkscrew spin too, genuinely impressive
You ever see a shooting form that just pisses you off?
Guy just has to go backboard 100% unless it’s a dunk 🫡
Is that anime?
This is art
Shot so funky makes it look like AI slop.
What in the name of MKG is this fuckery?
Angel Reese has better shooting form than this
Dude should try shooting with his left, this is atrocious
Ayo what
Basketballs version of the knuckleball
If athleticism and size is more desired over skill in NBA and teams can take on these projects to flip in a few years than does that mean basketball is an easy sport to master skill wise? I cannot imagine a person attaining pro level skill in soccer or baseball in the same amount of time.
He shot that like someone who has never touched a basketball before.
That’s a phantom shot
Shits got side spin on it
The saddest part is that the newest crop of nba players might be too young to know what a kamehameha wave is.
Dragonball Super was popular for a time and don’t forget Daima….or the games that keep releasing.
