Giddey got traded not just because he had a bad playoff series but because OKC needed an elite 3 and D role player more than they needed another ball handler who still needed reps to develop. No Caruso, no ring

I still believe in Josh Giddey, he was just a bad fit with SGA. Tbf I don’t think anyone in 2021 was expecting Shai to be a dual MVP and champion.

You realize Washington had Davis, Young and Middleton who have playoff experience.

Giddey was also because OKC had to give contracts to Chet and JDub, no room for Giddey too. KD wanted to be on the Rockets and Green was the salary needed to bring him on board.

I want to say Zion but don’t even know if he falls into the category anymore, don’t think the Pels will ever get rid of him as when he plays he keeps them, kind of, relevant enough. Can Trae young qualify? I know he made 1 conference finals, but Hawks are definite better without him.

I would also say Lamelo is an easy example and then after that maybe put Ja in there too. Both have laid Duds in the playoffs and are never available

Houston would have been better off keeping both Green and Brooks. OKC made the right choice, but Giddey really came into his own on the Bulls.

for the wizards- Think Bilal’s lack of offensive game is going to get him let go, not too dissimilar from what the spurs just did with Sochan

Jazz- the inverse for Keyonte George here, you gotta see some kind of defense from him next year or you could start seeing him in liability category come playoff time

Love him to death but Keldon Johnson just might be one of these players that just hinders the team come playoff time.

He won 6moty and then proceeded to have a very forgettable playoff run that saw his averages completely nosedive. He averaged just 4pts and 3 reb in the Finals… with how close all those games were, imagine what could be the outcome if the 6moty winner played even just half as good as he did in the regular season.

OKC clearly made the right move. They won a chip.

Houston has regressed. Should have kept Green. KD won’t win another chip w the Rockets.

Other teams that make a move like this in the future… look at the top three picks from 2024 (risacher, sarr, Sheppard). Will be interesting to watch how they develop.

As sad as it is to say, replacing Robert Williams with KP won us a title, we needed the defense plus solid offense and a damn good 3-point shooting big, he was the final piece of a title squad, which we nearly won with RWIII (tbf, he wasn’t the main issue in that finals, but my point still stands)
