LeBron is smart enough to know that any role he played in team building in the past is over, and wants to go to the roster and franchise with which he fits best, and play competitive basketball with right away. The fewer players making adjustment periods to new teams, the less disruptive his presence on a roster the better. I don’t think applying “leverage” is anything than more making sure that if teams can create additional money to pay LeBron, that they do so.
