His content has matured a lot. I’m not a fan, but as someone who works in the space so I have a passing familiarity, his content used to be a lot of acting out for attention (including screaming his head off while playing games) and these days it’s a lot more chill.
I remember getting really pissed because I watched a charity soccer game Speed played in and he hit Kaka with a super reckless slide tackle, but that was years ago now.

I think you will find it is completely generational. Likely very few people over the age of 40 have ever heard of him. I have only heard of him myself via this subreddit and this was the first time I actually saw his face. I’m in my 30s. I imagine my demographic is likely not very aware of him either. True fame in this country, like generational fame, hasn’t fully made it’s way into the streaming world yet. That’s still reserved for musicians, athletes, and actors for now. For example, I would imagine Taylor Swift is magnitudes more famous than he is as pretty much every single person I interact with whether they are children or elderly has heard of her. If I go to work and ask every single person if they know this guy or any other big streamer, likely only the kids and parents with kids know them.
